A submarine trip to an island of ghosts. A band of fugitive actors. A deadly draconian who has had too much holiday punch. And veritable onslaught of dryads, shadow wights, and that rarest of all monsters, the dread forest boojum.

Also, from the team of Margaret Weis and Don Perrin, the latest adventure of Kang and his wayward troop of draconians.

In the proud tradition of the best-selling Dragonlance anthologies, Heroes and Fools promises a sometimes heroic -- sometimes foolish -- visit to the world of Krynn.

I'm sure my opinions of Dragonlance anthologies are well known by now. I don't like them. However this one was definately heads and tails above the rest. I found myself enjoying the majority of the stories within this anthology. They focused on the main theme of Heroes and Fools in the correct timeline of the fifth age. This was already 5 times more than what you get in other anthologies which don't stay constant to the theme. The overall writing in this series is excellent. The submarine adventure was probably the best written in a diary form. Typically diary entry type stories don't flow very well or have numerous problems in keeping the reader interested. But Roger E. Moore manages this form very well and creates a very compelling adventure through it.

If you're a Dragonlance fan and are interested in some stories set in the fifth age timeline feel free to pick this up. While admittedly it doesn't really expand on anything you know about the World of Krynn it is an enjoyable read and probably the best Dragonlance anthology ever written.
