Complementary to the factors described in Japan's national innovation system, are its unique cultural identity, the devotion to progress, sense of belonging and community spirit. They all have helped this nation to achieve an economic and technological miracle and to successfully fight natural disasters, such as earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, landslides and storms. The future of Japan, however, will depend on whether this country achieves a sustainable economic development in harmony with nature.Innovation competition from China, Taiwan and Korea have force Japan to speed up their necessity of innovation. The usage of scientific knowledge is crucial for Japan industrial innovation particularly in the case bio-pharmaceuticals.

It is advisable that the Japanese government encourage the citizens to have bigger family due to the fact that this will enhance more workers in the industrial sectors. Women too, need to be educated and promote to help the industry thus, it will  add variance in the ideas to innovate. Environmental issue in Japan need to be highlighted and solutions need to be given as this will create a better condition to work with.

The concept of national innovation system is a good starting point to understand a country's technological advance and the factors, which facilitate a nation's learning process. However, NIS focuses mainly on the institutional framework and deals with innovation as a strategy or an end of its own. The emphasis for nations should not be on innovation at any price but innovation as a means to achieve other aims, the most important of them being a sustainable good quality of life today and tomorrow. In the pursuit for new technological wonders we should not forget that the real luxuries of life come from nature.
