Name:
Sam, Sammy, Samuel, Salty Dawg, or lost puppy.
Date of birth: 8/22/83
local: Hatboro- I was born in Abington and currently
live in Philadelphia, but I will always be a boy from
Hatboro.
Fav. type of music: Grunge, Alternative, classic,
and fusion rock.
Fav. song: To Live is to Die/You Know You're Right/most
Eagles songs.
Fav. Band- Beatles, they had the most talented
musicians in the world play in the same band. Find any
other band who recorded so many singles, and e-mail me
your list!
Most influential music: everyone tries to copy
off Cobain and Nirvana, or Pearl Jam- it is obviously
grunge.
Best video game: Street Fighter II. What else do
I have to say? It is the best game in history.
Worst things about college: apathetic teachers,
boring lectures, and the food is saturated in laxitives.
Person/s- Melissa and Mr. T- Mr. T's career went
from A Team, to 1-800-collect to being a cast member in
a rap video.
Quote- "You have to crack some eggs to make
an omelette."
Activity- playing hockey and drawing. Ever since
I was 5, I would draw anything I saw on TV, including
my infamous ninja turtles, and then I moved on to more
realistic pictures. When I am bored, I tend to scribble
a lot.
Movie- Fight Club- see above quote.
Sports team- Eagles!
-Sam's Bio-
What would you all like to know about me? Ever since I
was in 7th grade, I had the desire to learn how to play
in a band. I was proficient with drumming, but I wanted
to play with other musicians. My first attempts at a band
were with a group of kids from my preppy high school,
Penn Charter. This group, which went through several different
names- Calypso, Sugar Daddies, Union Busters, union blitz,
Flash Gordans, Elton's Jawn, Menace, Menace 611- was at
one point my entire life. After 3 long years of bitter
arguments, resentment, and battles we had enough of each
other and our 20+ songs. Some people consider the Union
Busters to be the best Indie rock band, but I would rather
like to concentrate my energies on a new horizon. Soon,
about two years ago and after a professional studio-recorded
demo, I left the group. I began to focus my attention
on academics and spend more time with my girlfriend Melissa.
About a year ago, I applied to Drexel, packed my bags,
and began my new life in Philadelphia. I soon met Larry
in my University 101 class, and we gradually became friends.
After a trip to Hackett School, we started talking about
music and how he was in a band. At the end of the next
University class of that week, he gave me a very rough
demo of his band Valediction. Christmas break came about,
I invited him over, and we slammed out a few tunes on
my digital mixer. As of right now, I have had about three
practices with the group and we have come up with this
website, four songs, and I got to play at Garry's house.
Garry has the funniest looking drumset I have ever seen,
and that epic practice shall go in the books as a success.
Valediction shall crank out many more tunes before we
run out of steam.
PS- I love my friends and Melissa! you guys all have made
me a little happier.
