Bolanile-Ujamaa Investment Group (BUIG)

Bolanile-Ujamaa Investment club was formed in October 1996 with seven founding members. Our name has deep meaning. "Bolanile" is Yoruba for "she is the wealth of this home". "Ujamaa" is Swahili for "cooperative economics".

We joined the National Association of Investors Corporation (NAIC), who gave us invaluable information on starting and running an investment club. The NAIC, dedicated to educating investors since 1951, publishes "Better Investing", a monthly magazine. NAIC has numerous helpful forms. One form, the Stock Selection Guide (SSG) is used to determine if the stock is a "buy" or "sell". We made our first stock investment in February 1997.

If you are interested in joining an all black female investment club, please e-mail us today. We would be happy to have you attend a business meeting.

Statement of purpose:
To bring together a group of like-minded individuals for the purpose of education, enjoyment and financial enrichment through collective investment in the stock market.
