My colleagues and I went to Shaoxing around June 9, 2001. Shaoxing is my father's hometown so it is mine also. My father has not been to Shaoxing yet and I highly recommend him and my mother to have a visit there. It's a wonderful place!

Donghu (East Lake) is very beautiful. The water and the caves are so impressive. But it was a little hard to find a nice angle to take pictures since we were in the moving boats, i.e. we were in the scene ourselves! I love this lake very much.

Lan Ting is famous for a great calligrapher Wang Xizhi in the ancient time. I was standing in front of the pavilion with a tiny crab on my shoulder. Did you notice that?
The fan in my hand had the two words on it (Lan Ting--Orchid Pavilion). Do I look like a calligrapher too?

At Lang Ting. I like this photo for it's interesting layout. (From up to below: Zhuyg, Xiaoping, Zhaoyh and me)
Xianheng restaurant, famous for Kong Yiji, a poor "intellectual" in Luxun's story. I took a photo with his statue. This restaurant was stylish, reminiscent of a simple and relished past life style. A must-visit place though you may not care for its food. ;-)

At the Wild Zoo, Shanghai. In May, 2001. How small, cute and adorable these pet monkeys are! They liked the peanuts in my palm.

At Wuzhen, an ancient town not far from Shanghai. March, 8, 2001. I like this dye house. This resembles to some degree a scene in a movie of Zhang Yimou.

Actually I don't like this picture too much, because the photographer did not allow me to laugh!
