ALBUM TITLE: Shades Of Purple
RATING: Good
M2M. So, you�ve probably heard about them. Two teens, Marit and Marion, straight out of Scandinavia, landing a major label recording deal, singing on the soundtrack of �Pokemon,� two hit singles, blam blam, great album! Is it really a fairy tale come true for these two talented girls?
�Don�t Say You Love Me,� which more people identify as the Pokemon song sung by the Chipmunks, and �Mirror Mirror,� the second single, are, thankfully, not the only two good songs on the album. As a matter of fact, girls from 8 to 15 will no doubt be able to relate to these songs. Almost all the songs were written by M2M, which probably accounts for some of the downright sophomoric lyrics (what can you expect from standard 16-year-old teens, whose main problems revolve around love?). Interesting bit of info, BTW: one of the most common words in the entire album is �confused�; Sound Advice wonders why.
Other tracks that can garner massive airplay include �Give A Little Love,� �Do You Know What You Want� (nice drumpads on that one), �Girl In Your Dreams� and �Dear Diary.� The stand-out track, though, is the near-acoustic, toe tapping ditty, �Don�t Mess With My Love.� Give this a couple of spins and you�ll understand why; it�s the finest acoustic track from the teen set since� when was the last time a teen set did an acoustic set, anyway?
They play their own instruments, they write their own songs, make their own harmonies, and look like they�ll win the Miss Universe crown in three years. Looks like a bright future for these two � in all shades of purple.
