In the first web page design assignment, you are to create an account with geocities. In your webspace, you are to create a title page (called index.html) which links to four other distinct pages which you have created. These need to be created either in pagebuilder, claris home page, or using html source code (if you know how!).

The topics of your pages are completely up to you, however, must be appropriate for school. Any inappropriate content, links, images or sounds, as described in the code of conduct, will result in a loss of rights to access the internet at school and a subsequent failure of the assignments.

The marking scheme below will be used to assess your independently developed web pages.

Layout:

The five pages are effectively organized allowing the user to navigate with ease. Effects, text fonts, backgrounds and images are complimentary. Items do not overlap and visually appealing.

The five pages are linked together and accessible from the index page. Buttons are clearly visible and labelled. All links are active and do not lead to unidentified page. Links outside of home page are appropriate and labelled correctly.

Effects:

A variety of unique and creative effects are appropriately incorporated into website. (Ie GIF images, JPG's, sounds, .avi files, and mpeg's). Several of the page builder features are used effectively. (ie. Guestbook, Chat, Counter, Links, Background Images, Text Tail, etc...)

Creativity and Originality:

Personal web page shows evidence of effort. A variety of unique and creative images and graphics are incorporated, links are related to topics. Project is visually appealing and related to theme of each individual page.
