A World Without Colour

Imagine taking a walk through a park and seeing nature all around you. You look up in the sky and see a colourful rainbow and later on in the night a sunset. As you are flying in a hot air balloom, you see bright parrots and blooming tulips below you. Suddenly you blink and all the colour dissapears. A world without colour.

Colour gives life substance ,vividness and authenticity. Having colour all around my life, puts a smile on my face and makes me feel joyous. My favourite seasons of the year are Spring , Summer , and Autumn because during these , the flowers are blooming a varitey of colours, and the leaves off the trees are changing from green to gold. Clear blue water, evergreen grass , and the golden sun make up the Summer and make me feel energetic, alert , and free. As shown in figure 1, colour is so important when looking at the parrots change from red, blue , and green to a dull, grey scale, because colour gives them their identity. When I look at them in colour, I can appreciate their appearance and study the patterns of colour forever. If I were to see them in grey, I would just look away seeing them as any other bird. As shown in figure 2, colour is important when looking at the garden full of fuschia coloured tulips, because this is what makes them so unique. Without colour, tulips would not be seen in gardens because no one would want to plant a black and white flowers. Colour is what gives a garden life.

In figure three colour is so important when looking at a multi-coloured rainbow because it makes the rainbow stand out , instead of looking up and seeing five shades of grey, black, and white. It changes a dull , rainy day into a bright ,and more alive day. My mood would instantly change from gloomy to cheerful. As shown in figure four, colour is important when looking up into the sky and seeing a colourful hot air balloon, because the colour and shape is what surprises you and brings to your attention something unique in the sky. A black and white balloon would just blend into a dark sky and never be noticed. Finally, as shown in figure five , colour is important when looking at the golden, and orange coloured sunset because it is a beautiful end or beginning (if it was a sunrise) to a day. Seeing this picture in black and white, would feel as though there was a hurricane or disaster about to happen. The complete opposite would be seen and felt, just by the change of colour.

A colourless life would be depressing, and I would feel as though there was a missing part in my life. Seeing these images change, made me think differently about the way Jonas felt when he had to live a colourless life. I didn't think Jonas's life was that bad colourless, until I had seen it in a picture. In conclusion, living in a world without colour would not be a world at all.
