Spring 2008

Alpha Tau Chapter (McGill) won Greek Week and had the highest sorority GPA.  Member Leona Teixeira was elected president of the Inter-Greek Leadership Council.

Alpha Alpha Chapter (Toronto) member Bonnie Latour won best CPH officer at Panhellenic awards night.

Epsilon Phi Chapter (Bentley) was recognized at the school�s annual Greek Awards with the highest sorority GPA during the fall 2007 semester. The chapter was also presented with the school�s Outstanding Commitment to Service award. Chapter member Tatiana Casale was awarded Outstanding Greek Council Delegate.

Zeta Mu Chapter (St. John�s) had the most community service hours throughout the Greek system, won Greek Week, held the highest GPA in the Greek system, and was recognized as the Most Outstanding Sorority at the Alpha Phi Alpha Women�s Appreciation Dinner.

Epsilon Alpha Chapter (LaSalle) won the university�s Greek Week. Chapter member Jill Moore also won the campus Greek Goddess competition.

Zeta Epsilon Chapter (Duquesne) was honored with the Outstanding Service Award and president Libby Povich won Sorority President of the Year.

Delta Kappa Chapter (Lehigh) was presented with the Highest Sorority GPA Award at the school�s annual Greek Awards.

Delta Mu Chapter (Rutgers) members Alison Lupinacci and Leanne Steiner were inducted into Gamma Sigma Alpha, the Greek honor society.  Jenni Klenk won the Award of Distinction and was initiated into the Order of Omega, another Greek honor society.  Lori Smith was elected Panhellenic President.

Alpha Chi Chapter (William and Mary) was presented with the Excellence in Member Education and Excellence in Public Relations awards at the school�s 2008 Greek Awards. The chapter was also honored with the title of Outstanding Sorority.

Epsilon Lambda Chapter (Alabama-Tuscaloosa) president Karoline Richardson was awarded the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award, the highest honor given to a student at the university.  Recipients exhibit excellence of character and outstanding service to humanity.

Beta Mu Chapter (Florida State) received the award for Most Improved Panhellenic Chapter for 2007.

Epsilon Zeta Chapter (Jacksonville) was recognized for significant growth through recruitment with the Most Improved Chapter Award from Panhellenic.

Epsilon Mu Chapter (Loyola-New Orleans) won Greek Week and saw one of their members crowed Greek Week Queen.

Zeta Lambda Chapter (Texas A&M-Corpus Christi) was the Homecoming Spirit Competition winners for the second year in a row.

Zeta Kappa Chapter (Southern Indiana) won several awards including Greek Week, Best Sorority GPA, Most Members with 4.0 Semester GPA, and Chapter Excellence, Silver Level. Member Jessica Rosenbarger was also honored as Outstanding New Member and member Jessica Watson was honored as Outstanding Senior.  Jean Cunningham Blanton won Outstanding Chapter Advisor for the second time.

Beta Phi Chapter (Indiana University) was the recipient of the Richard McKaig Brotherhood and Sisterhood Award for overall sisterhood and unification.  Their advisor, Kelly Nelson Hane (Alpha Xi) won Chapter Advisor of the Year.  Member Jessica Finch received an award for Upcoming Leader.

Beta Pi Chapter (Indiana State) won Sorority of the Year and the Citizenship Award for most community service hours and Greek participation.  They also tugged their way to victory in the school�s Spring Week Tug-of-War and won Homecoming.  Freshman Shannon Stone received an educational scholarship along with the Helen E. Reeves Award for academic excellence.  Member Tiffany Sims was recognized with the Trailblazer Award for the hardest working and most outgoing new member.  The Outstanding Chapter Member award went to Katie Yeary.

Delta Iota Chapter (Purdue) member Alexandra Gagnon was presented with the Charles O. McGaughey Leadership award, established in 1939 to honor students with leadership potential based on contributions to the university and community.  Also, former chapter president Dyanna Hamstra was recognized as the President of the Year at Greek Awards night.

Zeta Omicron Chapter (John Carroll) members Nicki Johnson and Ashley Sandella were inducted into the Order of the Omega honors society.  The chapter also had the new member class with the highest GPA out of five sororities.  The chapter was also recognized for organizing a project with the Boys & Girls Club of Cleveland.

Beta Gamma Chapter (Bowling Green State) won Most Improved Chapter at Greek Awards and also Chapter MVP.  Member Sarah Brown was chosen as Greek Goddess.

Kappa Chapter (Minnesota-Twin Cities) won numerous accolades at the annual Greek Awards night, including Chapter of Excellence, Outstanding Recruitment Program, Outstanding Academic Program, Outstanding Community Service Program, and Outstanding Leadership Program. Chapter member Laura Clementi was also presented with the Greek Woman of the Year Award.

Gamma Rho Chapter (Oshkosh) member Ann-Marie Brewer was honored as Outstanding Emerging Leader and senior Emily Westover received the award for Outstanding Student Leader at the university�s annual Student Leadership and Involvement Awards.

Omicron Chapter (University of Illinois) was awarded Most Volunteer Hours for a Panhellenic Chapter during National Volunteer Week.  At the Greek Oscars Ceremony, they won the Campus Organized Recycling Efforts Contest.

Beta Upsilon Chapter (Kansas State) received seven Greek awards including alumnae relations, chapter management, recruitment, scholarship, membership development, philanthropy/community service, and public relations. Member Kendall Coad was named the semester's Outstanding Senior in Business by the Kansas State University College of Business Administration.  President Kylie Bullock was awarded the Above & Beyond Chapter President for 2007.  Mary Vanier was named Advisor of the Year.

Alpha Delta Chapter (Missouri-Columbia) sophomore Katie Long was honored with the 2008 MU Unsung Heroes Award, which recognizes outstanding service and selfless giving. Senior Linden Fornoff was presented with the Chancellor�s Community Service Award.  Senior Lexa Fornoff was presented the Chancellor�s Most Outstanding Senior Leadership Award.

Gamma Tau Chapter (St. Louis) was recognized in the areas of alumni relations and non-alcoholic programming.  Member Candice Timmerman was nominated for the Chapter Luminary Award.

Zeta Delta Chapter (SE Missouri State) won Best Overall GPA, Best New Member GPA, and the President�s Award at Greek Week.

Epsilon Delta Chapter (Creighton) was honored at the university�s annual Greek Awards night with the awards for Chapter and Leadership Development and University/Community Relations.   Member Joelle Johnson won the Book Scholarship Award for maintaining a 4.0 GPA and member Laura Brannen won the Junior Excellence Award, presented to an involved and inspirational individual.

Pi Chapter (Nebraska-Lincoln) advisor Mitzi Ritzman received the Outstanding Advisor Award from the American Speech Language Hearing Association.  Mitzi was nominated by her students and competed nationwide to win this award.

Gamma Kappa Chapter (Nebraska-Kearney) received several honors during Greek Week, including Cultural Awareness Programming Award, Leadership Programming Award, Chapter Community Service and Philanthropy Award, and Chapter House Improvement Award.  In addition, the professor nominated by the chapter for Professor of the Year was honored with the award.

Beta Psi Chapter (Oklahoma State) member Megan McGuire was honored as the Outstanding Greek Senior at the university�s Greek Awards.

Tau Chapter (Colorado State) won awards including Greek Week and Chapter Conduct.  They also earned the Greek Life �Seal of Approval.�  Members Timpi Webber and Amanda Terwey were inducted into the Order of Omega honors society.  Member Mandi Cook was a co-winner of the Greek Goddess Award.

Delta Delta Chapter (California State-Fullerton) was awarded the Dean�s Cup for the second year in a row as well as the 2008 Best of Fullerton Award in the associations category by the US Local Business Association.  At Greek Week, they placed first in competition.  Ten members were initiated into the Order of Omega honors society.  Marianna Kolonelos was awarded Outstanding Advisor of the Year.

Gamma Eta Chapter (California State-Long Beach) won first place at Greek Week.  Former president Claire La Breche was honored with the Hera Award for model Greek woman of the year.

Beta Alpha Chapter (Southern California-Los Angeles) was given several honors at the Greek Awards Banquet including recognition for inter-fraternity spirit, risk management, and campus involvement.  Member Sarah Wilson won Panhellenic Member of the Year.  The Gamma Sigma Alpha Highest GPA Award went to Sabrina Martin.  Jan Moore won for Continued Alumni Leadership.  Simona Merchen was honored with the Intersorority Parent Council Award.  Seniors Ashley Howell, Erica Lucero, and Sarah Wilson were awarded 2008 Seniors Who Made a Difference honors.

Beta Kappa Chapter (Arizona State) advisor Betsie Mayes Reynolds (Epsilon Nu) was recognized as Outstanding Advisor.  Chapter member Shashaun Wood (and 2008-2009 CLC) was honored with the University�s Excellence Award.

Alpha Epsilon Chapter (University of Arizona) was honored with the award for Alumnae Relations at their recent Greek awards banquet.  They were also recognized with second place awards for public relations and scholarship.

Beta Omega Chapter (Northern Arizona) won Greek Week as well as Outstanding Sorority of the Year and the Philanthropic Achievement Award.  Senior Mary Venezia was recognized with the coveted Gold Axe Award, the highest student honor given by the university president.  Member Kristi Howard received the award for Greek Woman of the Year.  Kelsie Austin won Living Your Ritual.  New Member of the Year was given to Jill Langan.

Beta Sigma Chapter (Washington State) won the Greek Week Lip Sync and member Bre Gastaldi was awarded a $500 Greek Week scholarship.

Zeta Alpha Chapter (Eastern Washington) received recognition for Most Improved GPA and Best GPA.  They also won first place overall in Greek Week.

Alpha Lambda Chapter (British Columbia) was awarded the Advisory Council award for scholastic achievement.  The chapter also won the Most Improved GPA.  Member Lindy Chow won the New Member Scholarship from UBC Panhellenic Association.

Delta Chi Chapter (California State-Sacramento) won Biggest Givers in a Phi Sigma Sigma fundraising event and has been nominated for Outstanding Organization through the Associated Students.  Members Michelle Thompson and Joanna Buchowicz received scholarships to attend Gamma Phi Beta�s LeaderShape this summer.

Epsilon Kappa Chapter (California State-Chico) members Rachel Chapman, Natalie Schallberger, Megan Delis, and Courtney Pecorawere were inducted into the Order of Omega honors society.

Xi Chapter (Idaho) member Kristin Caldewell won New Member of the Year.  Amy Huddleston won Outstanding Junior of the Year.  Shannon Hohl was named Outstanding Greek Woman of the Year.

Nu Chapter (Oregon) received awards in the categories of Best New Member Program, Best Educational Attendance, and Outstanding Community Service.
