| The MU Chapter of Gamma Alpha Omega Sorority, Inc. here at University of Milwaukee Wisconsin actively seeks involvement with cultural, educational and community outreach programs. Volunteerism, both short-term and long-term, is an important part of our organization. G.A.O. focuses on, but does not limit itself to, the Latino Community. Our responsibilities as students are equally important. Each member is expected to remain in good academic standing in order to be an active member to our organization.
Gamma Alpha Omega is an environment which brings about a unique and worthwhile college experience. The variety of functions that we involve ourselves in are opportunities to network, gain experience in leadership skills, and work with others who are also determined to make a difference through community assistance. Just a few events and organizations that we work with on an annual basis are: AIDs Walk Wisconsin, Big Brothers/Big Sisters Bowl-4-Kids, Milwaukee's Fiesta Mexicana, MS Walk, Milwaukee Art Festival, Salvation Army, Por La Gente Basketball Tournament, American Multicultural Student Leadership Conference, United States Hispanic Leadership Concference, Zoo A La Carte, and Milwaukee Children's Hospital, Boys & Girls Club of Milwaukee. The MU Chapter is always looking anyone who has or would like to gain leadership skills and isnt afraid to put in work and time into the surrounding communities with the reminder that this is a lifetime commitment. The activities and involvement do not stop after graduation.
