Objective:

On this page, you will find rules that aren't necessarily written down in a book of godly laws amongst people on Tribes, but these unspoken rules are a common courtesy while you are online any Tribes game. Some of these are basic, and any infracture of these with give you the "n00b" title which pretty much means your a dumb piece of crap who can't win at any kind of video game.

1. Do not base rape until the game is at LEAST 5 vs. 5 (That means don't destroy base items until 5 people are on each team)

2. Do not teamkill to give the other team a disadvantage. To some this seems like only a retard would do such a thing, and those people are not far off. There are some people who "spy" by going onto the other team to kill everyone and everything. This is unfair because, your allies will not notice you as an enemy, you can base rape without setting off turrets, and in arena, many people kill their teammates, and in arena you get 1 life per round, which makes a BIG difference on team ladders. So don't do it...only retards stoop this low

3. Do not complain about how someone is a "chaingun whore" or a "sniping bastard." Some people think you can only use a spinfusor and grenade launcher in a fair duel. These people are wrong, because they suck. Use ANY weapon you want at anytime, and if someone tells you otherwise tell them to !$@# off and die. It is NOT rude or evil to use a weapon you're good with, unless of course you're hacking Tribes.

4. This rule ties in with the last one, and can be summed up in one word. LAMER. Yes, that would be a lame gamer. I am talking about people who use Aim Bots. What these do is target EXACTLY onto the opponents head, and all the player has to do is press the trigger button. This is poor sportsmanship and gives people on ladders unfair advantages. Also, with the stat tracking, you get the bots stats, and not your own. Don't use Aimbots.

5. Do NOT discriminate against how other people play. Some people choose an "assassin" approach and others choose the run and gun sort of tactic, both are equally good and are different with each player. Also, don't disciminate against their load outs, or how they choose to shoot whether they suck or not.

6. Don't gay base rape. This is when you rape a base, and stay there. This is even more horrible than base raping with less than 5 vs. 5. That's true basically because it gives your team TOTAL control of the playing field. Rape a base and GET OUT. This also includes bombing spawn points, which is also horrible to do. Getting a kick out of killing defenseless people and bragging about it is about the most n00bish thing you can do on Tribes.

7. Spamming, don't do it. Say something once and be done with it. Not only is it the most !$@#ing annoying thing while in a duel, it completely screws up players concentration, and thus you get crappier duels in arena, and that means your play time gets pushed back more if you're dead. Whether you use the voice commands or just repeat a message, spamming is annoying, and pointless. Don't do it. Another form of spamming is to unload bombs on one position while on the offensive. For example, some people will get tanks, rovers, burners and mortars and just unload on the enemy flag area, making it impossible for them to score. When an ally gets near the flag, they stop momentarily and then keep attacking that one point.

8. Don't complain 24/7. A complaint about an infraction of above rules is okay, but don't go overboard with it. It's really annoying when someone spends more time typing their whiny ass complaints rather than actually playing the game.

Remember to play fair, and don't discriminate against other playing styles or other players. Be kind to those you meet and have fun, it's just a game, and people just want to enjoy what time they have on it. This rule may change, from person to person, because a lot of people like to be able to win on their own merits, and don't like having their asses kicked when their team has 3 players less than the other, are getting base raped and spawn killed.

Don't snipe in arena. Sniping is cool, just not in arena. Picture yourself victorious on a battlefield of 3 v 1, you being the 1. You see an enemy in the distance, perhaps a medium. So, you go up to them to kick their scrawny ass. BUT! On the way to him/her, or while fighting...you magically loose 95 health and/or die. Sniping is cool, in other modes of play. But in Arnea...FUCK OFF! It ruins the spirit of dueling, and learning in dueling, and on maps like surface tension, it can give a very unfair advantage(especially those who take advantage of the glitch on that map...)
