I could write better music than that, but I'M not famous.  Another reason I hate people.
To protect myself from oncoming hatemail I will first state that System of a Down is not a BAD band, I just think they should improve.  How can they improve, you ask?  They could stop sucking.

I was at my friends' house the other day and they had System of a Down blasting throughout the house.  To my utter dismay I caught myself bobbing my head ever so slightly to the beat.  At this point I thought to myself, hey this can't be all that bad, the instrumental portion is quite good.  Once I started listening to the lyrics however I started feeling that familiar urge to be bitter.  Now, I think we can all agree that I'm a very tolerant and non-judgemental person by nature. . .So before I made any rash opinions I looked up their lyrics to make sure I was hearing it right.  I only had the stomach to look up two songs, so forgive me if all the other songs happen to contain coherency.

The first song I looked up is titled "Chop Suey". . .Why is it titled this?  I think it's safe to assume that the answer to this question is "cannibas."
So, dudes, like what should we name this song, you know?
I got the munchies like a motherfucker, my homey
Chop Suey Sound good?. . .
This is how I believe this song came about.

These are the lyrics to this paticular song. (
This is where I got my information)

Chop Suey!

Wake up,
Grab a brush and put a little (makeup),
Grab a brush and put a little,
Hide the scars to fade away the (shakeup)
Hide the scars to fade away the,
Why'd you leave the keys upon the table?
Here you go create another fable

You wanted to,
Grab a brush and put a little makeup,
You wanted to,
Hide the scars to fade away the shakeup,
You wanted to,
Why'd you leave the keys upon the table,
You wanted to,

I don't think you trust,
In, my, self righteous suicide,
I, cry, when angels deserve to die, Die,

Wake up,
Grab a brush and put a little (makeup),
Grab a brush and put a little,
Hide the scars to fade away the (shakeup)
Hide the scars to fade away the,
Why'd you leave the keys upon the table?
Here you go create another fable

You wanted to,
Grab a brush and put a little makeup,
You wanted to,
Hide the scars to fade away the shakeup,
You wanted to,
Why'd you leave the keys upon the table,
You wanted to,

I don't think you trust,
In, my, self righteous suicide,
I, cry, when angels deserve to die
In my, self righteous suicide,
I, cry, when angels deserve to die

Father, Father, Father, Father,
Father/ Into your hands/I/commend my spirit,
Father, into your hands,

Why have you forsaken me,
In your eyes forsaken me,
In your thoughts forsaken me,
In your heart forsaken, me oh,

Trust in my self righteous suicide,
I, cry, when angels deserve to die,
In my self righteous suicide,
I, cry, when angels deserve to die.

Could somebody please explain to me what this song is about.  Songs are simply supposed to be poems put to music.  Poems are supposed to make sense.  Unless this is some kind of inside joke between the band members, this must've taken about 5 minutes to write.  This is the kind of lyricistic backwash most teenagers listen to, but I am willing to bet my life savings (about 20 dollars) that less than 5% of them could come up with any realistic interpretation for the meaning of this.  I, myself can see a connection or two between the lyrics, but when I do this I am having to dig a little deeper than I should have to, as well as a little deeper than most people are capable of.  I could find symbolism and subliminal messages in just about everything, without effort, (it comes from paranoia) but no matter how close I look this song it always  seems like the kind of garbage that gothics are always spewing out of their mouths just for the hell of it.  Pure bullshit.

Trust in my self righteous suicide,
I, cry, when angels deserve to die,

What kind of suicide is self-righteous, dipshit? and why should I trust in it?
So. . .you are crying when angels deserve to die? Angels always deserve to die, but I hear no tears. Or are you crying BECAUSE angels deserve to die?  Are you crying because YOU should die?  Stupid arrogant prick, You think you're an angel?  Start making sense!!

Grab a brush and put a little (makeup),
Grab a brush and put a little,
Hide the scars to fade away the (shakeup)
Hide the scars to fade away the,
Why'd you leave the keys upon the table?

What does putting on make-up and leaving keys on a table have to do with suicide OR Chop Suey?. . . How high WERE you when you wrote this?. . .

Why have you forsaken me,
In your eyes forsaken me,
In your thoughts forsaken me,
In your heart forsaken, me oh,

You have been forsaken because you're a dipshit.  As far as I understand, this is song touches around some parent sissues, so I am assuming you are talkaing about your parents/father.  You have been forsaken because you are a sadistic dumbass who believes suicide is self-righteous, and that angels deserve to die.  Not even my father is cynical enough not to forsake me if I shared your view.

Father, Father, Father, Father,
Father/ Into your hands/I/commend my spirit,
Father, into your hands,

Another possibility is that this is directed towards God.  It doesn't matter though, because then it wouldn't match up ernough with other things you've said.  Who are you talking to?  Are you talking about yourself in the third person when you say:

You wanted to,
Grab a brush and put a little makeup,
You wanted to,
Hide the scars to fade away the shakeup,
You wanted to,
Why'd you leave the keys upon the table,
You wanted to,

I don't know about you but I started learning grammar in third grade. . .What more can I say. . .You suck. . . Just kill yourself already and stop making this world worse for me.  Die.
