Background Story: Laharl was born from a relationship between a human and a demon...this was considered forbidden because love couldn't possibly exist. But Laharl's father wasn't any typical Overlord. Unlike the other greater demons, Laharl's father was rational and seemed (although it believed to be impossible for a demon) to have feelings. His mother was a witch who traveled to the Netherworld because she fell in love with Laharl's Father. Shortly after the demon prince was born she died because her son had a disease that couldn't be cured. In exchange for her son, she gave her life away showing that she loved her son very much even though Laharl was too young to remember. But soon...Laharl's father died from saving his home from the invasion of the Alternate Netherworld. Laharl led an extremely difficult life, knowing that both his parents were dead. Laharl developed an independent attitude which has made him really strong, but he is also very stubborn and acts like a child sometimes...Maybe because he is still a kid and needs to be with his parents. Demons also grow and mature slower than all the other living things and have the longest existence. Unlike his father, Laharl behaves like any demon, but if he ever heard the word "love", he'd try to destroy everything...In his mind, love doesn't exist.
