Halo:- In the garden of the night's darkest fears, By the girl who likes to cry, Where our memory of the future years Floats upwards to the sky. We sit trapped within the cage That only we can see, While the moon and stars play on a stage That wasn't meant for you and me. These desert streets and forgotten homes That sank beneath the waves. The shadows of our lonely bones, In a carnival of graves. This is the path on which we tread, The trap that will never be set free, But the halo you wear around your head Shines brightly for you and me. The emissary of the rising sun, He said to shed a tear for the day. He said we were the fortunate ones To keep the light locked away. In this world of lovers and lies We were never meant to be. But together we have our own blue sky, That's just for you and me. Tom Clark
