Seriously.
At about 20 AIM windows, my system was seriously lagging. And I wasn't on my 3-year-old work system either (which was uploading a 500MB file over VPN, which explains why I'm up this late on the system). It's my gaming box, a 2.54P4 with a 5900FX.
At 40 windows, the system was basically overloaded. 100% utilization. Which explains the typos you see in my AIM convos (the system was so lagged I couldn't correct any errors, and half the time I ended up typing in the wrong window when another popped up).
I finally shut it all down at 141 windows. The screenshot was at 140.
I started out just as an experiment to see how many responses I could get, but I had no idea AIM was such a hog.
Fun.
Maybe I should hop on IRC. Tell ya what, someone open up a channel on DALnet, and I might just show up.

Dalnet's been under those DDOS attacks for the past 6 months or so. I'm not sure if it's still receiving those attacks, but it certainly lost a lot of its glory because of them.
