Y'know, CSS is starting to peeve me off... The font is supposed to be VERDANA, and the scrollbar is supposed to be BLACK AND WHITE! I haven't even TOUCHED the scrollbar attributes... SO WHY THE HELL DID IT CHANGE TO BLUE!?....; Can you tell I'm relatively inexperienced with CSS? ...I thought so.
The Setting

          The setting is a rather...complex thing. (In my mind, with the jumble of things, musings, and ideas, it's...big. ^^) I won't spoil anything yet, since not even half of First Lesson is done, so I'll just give you a basic run-down of facts.

The World

          The Lessons take place in theyear 2803. Novice Level 02 gives you a bit of detail on that. Houses are designed or remodeled to look like depictions of older, possibly ancient cultres. (Ex., Japanese, Victorian, even Arthurian, etc) Not everyone does this, though. Others may go for what we now consider futuristic. Some would even go to that futuristic of the 50s (Or was it 60s? Or 70s? I don't remember...). It's not uncommon to find houses in the today styles, either.

          Naturally, nations develop and fall as time passes. In 2803, these changes would be very evident for someone who comes from the past. (Nyahaha) Take the island-nations of the Caribbean, for example. Small, independent nations. In 2803, they have united as one and are now the Kingdom of Caribe, Caribe for short. Their main language is Spanish, with a few others thrown around inside. Me being me, I decided that if not the capital, at the very least, an important port in the area would be Puerto Rico, due to its strategic and advantageous location. (But that doesn't reall matter. ...or does it? *Twilight Zone theme*) This is important, because, y'know, Celia, Elias, Karen, and Riley are all from Caribe. ^^;

          Y'know, this whole thing about the euros is pretty convenient... Not. ^^; Spain is an independent nation called Novus Hispannia. (That's... I think Latin... I know it means "New Spain". Hispannia is the old Roman name for Spain.) Britain is Grand Britan. (I had originally thought Britannia, but that's too many nias. ^^ Plus, I highly doubt Spanish would take over the world. ^^) Japan is Novus Japan (New Japan), but don't ask why. I just thought it sounded cool. ^^ France is still in existence. (You'd think so. I mean, Naomi's French.) In fact, most of today's nations are.

          In what concerns language, the main cast, as well as everyone at POE, speaks Spanish. That's right. Spanish. (Not English. S p a n i s h. ^^) Why? Because I can. ^^ And because it gives me a certain flexibility that I just can't let go of. ^^

          The main languages of the world are as follows, in random order: English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Russian, and Hebrew. French and Russian are main to a somewhat lesser extent, but if you speak at least one of those languages, you can expect to get around the world with ease. It wasn't just my personal preference that was involved in the selection process. It's more fact-based than you think. (Except Russian. Russia's cool. Russia rocks. ^^)

          Technology-wise, they're pretty advanced. I mean, AD 2803 just screams technology, ne? Since this is definitely not my field (*hugs her tech consultant, Angel* ^^), I'll develop it later on, if I do. ^^;

Protectors of Earth

          Protectors of Earth is located in Novus Hispannia. As such, everyone there speaks Spanish. POE is not associated with the government. It's an independent organization. Hardly anyone knows of it existence. There are no leaks. It's heavily guarded. You get out, you'll likely be found, and you'll likely be killed. If not killed, you'll be put in intensive training, and that's not what it sounds like. (Meep)

          The Special Members are those members of POE who are in the training program because of their special abilities. (Hence the name. Go figure. ^^) The Special Members area is located below ground, if I remember correctly. (Actually, this is still in the planning stage. I'm pretty sure it'll be underground.) This is the largest section in the organization.

          Special Members abilities fit into four groups: mental, fire-related, water/ice-related, and electrical. These groupings form the more specific divisions and are identified by a color on their uniforms. The divisions are: Violeta, Roja, Azul, and Verde. A brief explanation of each is below:

          Violeta. Pronounced vyo-LEH-tah (the h is silent). This division compromises mental powers and is identified by the color purple.

          Roja. Pronounced RO-ha. This division compromises fire-related powers and is identified by the color red.

          Azul. Pronounced ah-SOOL or ah-THOOL. (The latter is the one used in Spain). This division compromises water or ice-related powers and is identified by the color blue.

          Verde. Pronounced VEHR-deh. This division compromises electrical powers and is identified by the color green.

          You refer to each division as Division Violeta/Azul/Roja/Verde, or Violeta/Azul/Roja/Verde Division. (If you didn't catch it, the names given to them are the Spanish words for the color they're represented by.) Each division has its leader, called a Division Leader. They are distinguished by their belts, which will be discussed below.
