A TOUR OF D.C. |

The real action that day was with the big cats. We seemed to arrive just in time for the show. The tiger was a bit lethargic at first, but then decided to grace us with a quick trip around his area, probably patrolling the edge of the moat to see if any kids had fallen in lately. You never know when a nice snack will come your way. |

The lions were particularly playful. Mr. Lion seemed to have some ideas about how to pass a lazy Sunday afternoon with the Mrs. On the right he's chasing after her when she made a sneaky escape up a wall and around some trees. On the left, she finally had to put him in his place with a good smack on the head. Yes, that's often what it takes to get through to a guy. |

I can't remember what this little fella was called, but he looked like a cross between a rabbit and a deer. Below that is a pic of a belt waiting to happen. It's fashion in the wild! But really, the zoo was pretty cool, and worth a look if you're in the area. Check out the link to their site below. |

So those are the highlights from the trip. I've been promised some pics from the inside of the Library of Congress, so perhaps I'll add some of those soon. |
