Welcome to
Galley Queen's Homepage!
In Wild, Wonderful, West Virginia...
the 'Who's Afraid of West Virginia Woolf' pack is howlin' in the hills........
This is me with one of my 'boys', Howl Now Yow Yow.  He inherited mostly his mom's German Shepherd genes, but is also part Wolf, part Snot-ball.  :)  He also inherited his parent's high intelligence and is  always most eager to show me how very smart he is..
This is Madd Maxx...he is a high percentage Wolf and the father of our 'Who's Afraid of West Virginia Woolf'-dog pack...he's a very large, wooley beast who has a heart of gold.  While he is very intimidating to strangers, he adores his family.  Notice the black 'eyeliner' around his eyes.  In the wild, one of the ways wolves communicate is through eye contact.  Their eyes are usually accentuated in this manner to make them easier to see and 'read'.  Maxx uses his eyes most effectively to let us know exactly what's on his mind often!
This is Slugs...he inherited mostly his dad's wolf genes and is a large, very sweet, loveable yet very shy fellow.  He seldom allows anyone outside of the 'pack' to pet him or even approach him.
Little poopers, er, puppies with a big yawn from Slugs!
This was mama dog Koko.  She was a high percentage German Shepherd and low percentage wolf. She was 4 years old when she met Maxx who was five months old at the time. She was responsible for making Maxx into a 'socially acceptable' wolf dog and 3-1/2 years later, they had their first litter of 12 pups. She was my very best girlfriend!  Unfortunately, we had to put this wonderful friend down after she reached almost 14 years old.  You are missed my dear friend.
