Our Fantasy Wedding Ceremony As We Wrote It...
BOCCA MUSICA Sings...  Since First I Saw Your Face
Reverend Ron:...  Lords and Ladies, family, friends. and traveling souls,............... We have come together here in celebration of the joining in marriage of Lord Gary and Lady Jacqueline. There is much to say about marriage, and much wisdom concerning the joining together of two souls has come our way through all paths of belief, and from many cultures. With each union, more knowledge is gained and more wisdom gathered. Though we are unable to give all this knowledge to these two that stand before us this day, we can hope to impart upon them, the knowledge of love, it's strengths, and the anticipation of wisdom that comes with time. The law of love is, love unto all beings. With full understanding of this, Lord Gary and Lady Jacqueline have come here today to be joined as one in marriage.
Lord Mayor:... At this time, some might ask, who gives this bride? But enlightenment dictates that woman, as a person, be not property, to be brought, sold, given, nor taken. It is to be asked then of Jacqueline, are thee here of thine own right? Dost thou swear that no one person hast compelled thee so, and art thou prepared to continue thy journey into marriage?
Bride's response......... Yes I come by my own accord, to stand with my one true love, strengthened by the blessings of those who come in witness this day.
Lord Mayor:...  Lord Gary and Lady Jacqueline, turn now, face each other, and listen to that which I am about to say. Above you are the stars, below you are the stones. As time doth pass, remember..... Like a stone should your love be firm, like a star should your love be constant. Let the powers of the mind and of the intellect guide you in your marriage. Let the strength of your wills bind you together. Let the power of love and desire make you happy and the strength of your dedication make you inseparable. Be close, but not to close. Possess one another, yet be understanding. Have patience with one another, for storms will come, but they will pass quickly. Be free in giving affection and warmth. Have no fear and let not the ways of the unenlightened give you unease, for God is with you always.
Reverend Ron:...     Lord Gary, I serve as witness to thine act, for it is by thine own right alone to bind thee as one to Lady Jacqueline through the power of love. If it be thy wish, then face thy love and speak thine words.
Groom....... Lady Jacqueline, It is my wish this day, to bond my life to thine, to receive thee as mine, so that thou wouldst become my wife, and I thy husband, for thou art my one true love.
Reverend Ron:....   Lady Jacqueline, I serve as witness to thine act, for it is by thine own right alone to bind thee as one to Lord Gary through the power of love. If it be thy wish, then face thy love and speak thine words.
Bride......... Lord Gary, It is my wish this day, to bond my life to thine, to receive thee as mine, so that thou wouldst become my husband, and I thy wife, for thou art my one true love.
Reverend Ron:... Lord Gary, take thy lady's hand in yours, and speak after me before all in witness here this day the words of thy oath to her.
I, Lord Gary, in the name of the spirit of God that resides within us all, by the life that courses within my blood and the love that resides within my heart, take thee Lady Jacqueline to my hand, my heart, and my spirit, to be my chosen wife. To desire thee and be desired by thee, to possess thee, and be possessed by thee, without sin nor shame, for naught can exist in the purity of my love for thee. I promise to love thee wholly and completely without restraint, in sickness and in health, in plenty and in poverty, in life and beyond, where we shall meet, remember, and love again. I shalt not seek to change thee in any way. I shalt respect thee, thy beliefs, thy people, and thy ways as I respect mine. This my love, is my pledge to thee.
Reverend Ron:....    Lady Jacqueline, take thy man's hand in yours, and speak after me before all in witness here this day the words of thy oath to him.
I, Lady Jacqueline, in the name of the spirit of God that resides within us all, by the life that courses within my blood and the love that resides within my heart, take thee Lord Gary to my hand, my heart, and my spirit, to be my chosen husband. Crannog sings song... Beggars to God...
Reverend Ron:... Lord Gary and Lady Jacqueline, you have publicly spoken your vows of love and respect, and have fully committed to one another. It is now your wish to gift each other for the first time as husband and wife.
Groom....... Lady Jacqueline, I give to Thee this single rose as my gift.
Bride.......... Lord Gary, I give to thee this single rose as my gift.
Reverend Ron:...   In some ways it seems you have done nothing at all. Just a moment ago you were holding one small rose - and now you are holding one small rose.
Know ye all that the rose is considered a symbol of love, a symbol given to one to say, I love you. Along with this gifting on this day Lord Gary and Lady Jacqueline have also received one of life's most valuable and precious gifts, one we hope they shall always remember, the gift of true and abiding love within the devotion of marriage. Lord Gary and Lady Jacqueline, as this day ends and your tomorrows begin, this boon we place upon you, that wherever you make your home, be it large and elegant, or small and graceful, pick one very special location for gifting each other with roses, for on each anniversary of this wonderful occasion, you may both take a rose to this special place and recommit to your marriage and the love you've based it on.
Know that there are times in every marriage that misunderstandings occur, the wrong words may be said, for it is easy to hurt, and be hurt by those we love. If either of you should find yourselves at this impasse, or the words don't seem to come, leave a rose at this special spot you have selected. Let it say, I'm sorry, I forgive, I need you, or I am hurting now, but also let it say, I do still love you.
Lord Mayor:...  Lord Gary and Lady Jacqueline, if there is one thing you remember of this marriage ceremony, let it be this, that love brought you here today, love can make this union glorious, and by love shall this marriage endure.
Now Lord Gary and Lady Jacqueline drink your fill from the bottomless chalice of love.
Reverend Ron:...  By all that is holy, by the powers of this state, in agreement with all here present, by thine own testament of love, I declare Lord Gary and Lady Jacqueline to be on this day well and truly married.
Sir, you may now kiss your Bride.
