| Gale Harold was born on July 10, 1969 in Decatur, Georgia. He is a middle child with an older sister and a younger brother. Because he is an incredibly private person, few details have been released pertaining to Gale's upbringing. Jack London, David Bowie and Gandalf have been credited as some of his strongest adolescent influences. |

| After graduating from Southwest Dekalb High School, Gale attended American University, in Washington D.C. on a soccer scholarship. He began a Liberal Arts degree in romance literature, only to depart after a year and a half, due to irreconcilable differences of opinion between himself and his coach. Gale then moved to San Francisco, California to pursue an interest in fine arts at the San Francisco Art Institute. Eventually he became dissatified with that, too, and opted to make other plans. In 1997, friend Suzy Landau suggested Gale attempt stage acting. He re-located to Los Angeles and began a 3 year period of intensive dram study and exploration. At 28, he was accepted into the Actors Conservatory Program with the classical theater company A Noise Within. In his theatrical debut, Gale appeared as "Bunny" in Me and My Friends Later in, 2000, Gale finally landed the role that would thrust him into the national spotlight. He played Brian Kinney, a central character on Showtime's popular gay drama Queer as Folk to much critical acclaim until the seriess ended in late 2005 Trivia - Despite playing an openly gay character for almost 5 years, Gale is infact straight - Gale has a tattoo on the inside of his right, middle finger that reads "Resist". It is a touchy subject to him, and he doesn't like to talk about it - Gale reads The Nation religiously - He worked as a carpenter before "Queer as Folk - Calls the city of Toronto his home - Gale Harold was chosen in Paper, New York Magazine as one of the 50 Most Beautiful People duh! - |
