The Doctor and his party land on Deva Loka, the world of the Kinda. The Kinda are the natives, peaceful, telepathic, and simplistic. Nearby, and Earth expedition has landed and set up an observation dome, taking two of the Kinda as hostages. As the Doctor comes into contact with the Earth expedition, a sleeping Tegan is taken over by the evil Mara, a creature which inhabits the subconscious. The Doctor is taken to a cave where he meets and old woman and her assistant. There the Old woman shows the Doctor the future of the Kinda. The Mara then takes over Tegan and inhabits Aris, a Kinda. Aris then leads the tribe because he now has voice, which the males of the Kinda are not suppose to have. The Doctor must try to prevent the Mara from killing all the Kinda and stop a mad man who has taken over the observation dome.
Despite what most people say about this story, I really like it. Especially the lagre snake at the end that they defeat using mirrors. It has a good plot and some amusing parts. |
