The Doctor and Peri land on Androzani Minor where they become trapped in a power stuggle between Sharaz Jek and General Chellak. Sharaz Jek holds the planets supply of spectrox, a substance which, when refined, can extend youth and vitality. General Chellak is the leader of the force from Androzani Major attempting to end Jek's hold on the substance. Unfortunately, General Challek believes the Doctor to be a gun runner taking guns to Sharaz Jek. Jek, however, becomes obsessed with Peri. Meanwhile, both the Doctor and Peri are suffering from the deadly unrefined spectrox toximia, a fatal illness that attacks anyone who comes in contact tith raw, unrefined spectrox. The Doctor travels to the very bottom of the caves to obtain the cure of the spectrox toximia. There he obtains the bat's milk and heads back to Sharaz Jek. Peri is living on a string of life. The Doctor takes Peri back to the surface just as the mud bursts start and opens the TARDIS. There he gives Peri the Bat's milk and has noe left for himself. He regenerates into his new form.
This story was very good and gave Peter Davidson a very good farewell. However, it gave rise to, in my opinion, the worst person to play the Doctor and the eventual collapse of Doctor Who. |
