They departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for His name.
2 Corinthians 1:5-7
For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows. If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort.
Romans 5:3
And not only is that true, but we are very happy in our troubles, because we know that trouble makes us stronger.

Be glad when you suffer as Christ did. Then you will enjoy a much greater gladness when His glory is revealed.
Philippians 3:10
All I want is to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and to share in His sufferings by reproducing the pattern of His death. That is the way I can hope to take my place in the resurrection of the dead.
