1. Introduction

1.1)Who is the Gala of Slapp?
We are a group of East Coast gamers that come together to provide a low ping gaming atmosphere and to have a good time.

1.2)What is 'The Gala of Slapp'?
The Gala of Slapp is the creation of Ben 'seVer' Harbin and is a East Coast LAN party. This is the place where we host all of the tournaments and show of each others hardware :)

1.3)When is the Gala of Slapp?
The Gala of Slapp is held quite often. No regular date is set.  Our team of core members meets often to discuss the planing of future LANs and this is then released in the mailing list, IRC Channel, and website.

1.4)Where is The Gala of Slapp?
The location of our LAN is usualy at 90 French Village Blvd.  Sharpsburg GA, 30277.  However this might change as we progress in time.  For a map see the infromation section.

1.5)What does your name mean?
Our name means Gallon of Slap. Hence Gala of  Slapp.

1.6)How the hell do you say Gala of Slapp?
You pronounce it "Ga" like in 'Ga' from Gallon, "Luh", "of", "Slap."

'Ga-luh-slap'

Many of you prolly heard Patrick Norton of The Screen Savers miss pronounce our name on national TV.... it's not "Gayluh" of Slapp... it's GaLa of Slapp! :)

2. Getting into The Gala of Slapp LAN

2.1)Register
You must register 1day before the LAN to attend.  This is to let us know how our accommodations.

2.2)Travel
See the Haulit Section and Information section on what to bring and how to get the LAN.

2.3)Check In
When you get to the LAN besure to Check in with us to let us know who you are! :)

3. Bring Your Own Computer (BYOC)

3.1)Why BYOC?
Because not everyone has 5 comps in their house.  Not to mention it's more convent for us.

3.2)Is it possible to rent one?
If you can find someone that will rent his/her comp to you. Be our guest. But if you break it at our LAN, we take no responsibility.

3.3)Is it safe?
It better be. Cuz I'm not going there to get shot. Well realy yes it is. Your computer will not have a problem becase you will probably be there at all times.  Other players are looking out for your stuff as well.

3.4)What games will be played?
What can you think of? If it has LAN capabilities, we can play it.

3.5) My Shit is broke can you help me fix it?
AHGHGHGHG! Sadly yes. LOL during 1 LAN we helped 1 guy take off Win2k, repartition his HD, and reinstall Win98, and Chinese Windows! Hell yeah!

4. Tournaments

4.1)What tournament will be held at the LAN
Depends really. We anounce it when we plan for the LAN.  Just sign up for the mailing list!

We are hoping expand our horizons to not only LAN parties, but the addon of Online tournaments for people who live to far to attend our LANs.

 

5. General Rules

5.1)Stealing
This at a LAN is probably the worst crime you could commit.  Well other than physically killing your opponent.   We will absolutely NOT TOLERATE ANY THEFT!!! Not only will this get you banned from our LAN, we will prosecute you to the fullest extent of the law.  Your name will also be send to every LAN organization we can find. Theft has no place in our parties.

5.2)Does the LAN run overnight?
Yes it runs about from 6p.m. to 11.am.

5.3)Can I sleep in the LAN area?
Yes, but not where the rats nest is or in a high traffic area.

5.4)What can get me banned from future LAN events?
Stealing, constantly harassing other players, physically fighting, breaking another persons rig (which you will have to replace in FULL), however taunting other players during deathmatch is allowed. Isn't that what makes LANij fun? But don't be surprised if everyone tells you to STFU cuz your too loud. :)
