Skyler McConahy
A teacher of Jing Chuan Kung Fu, professional graphic artist, and DJ, Skyler McConahy was brought onboard with Galactic Comics in 2004, and was originally introduced to Kenny Caid and Shawn Charney as James Larson's Kung Fu Instructor. He is a fifteen year veteran of the martial arts, who approaches all things (especially the arts) with a sense of discipline and perfection.
He began his graphics career at age eight, as a typesetter for his grandfather's engraving shop, and slowly evolved into a graffiti artist, a tattoo artist, and finally a graphic designer. A master signmaker, Skyler focuses most of his talent into the graphics and artistic lettering on our covers.Though not originally into comics, Skyler had a natural talent for artistic lettering and shading, making him a shoe-in here at Galactic.
Since the addition of this new talent, Skyler has gone on to create a fresh new look for Galactic Comics, by bringing detailed and intricate logos to the covers and pages of our books. He has designed logos for books such as: Lore of Gaea, Redemption, Jilted Love Collection, Other Realms, Ika, Eclipse and many more. He even created the logo you see at the top of this page. With Skyler's generous collaboration on our current titles, and him now beginning on his first solo project, "2.0," we plan on seeing more great work from him in the near future.
