The Modern World is an Enigma
It had been seven years since Nesmeterpanakhet was released from his imprisonment in his dusty old tomb. The Setites' power had dwindled after Set was killed. They kept a little sway in the Roman Empire until the late third century AD, but that was the last of their real influence. Since then he had found out that Setites in all of their various groups were attempting to resurrect their god and attempting to get revenge on the twelve clans that wrongly defeated Set.

The group of Setites that released him called themselves the Serpents of the Light. This offshoot clan was only a few decades old. To Nesmeterpanakhet's surprise they went and joined the Sabbat. He wasn't quite sure about them at first, but eventually their ideals began to grow on him. They felt that Set wasn't a god, but he was an incredibly strong Vampire. They also felt that if Set had the ability to become that strong, than they could become a god-like Vampire as well. This appealed greatly to Nesmeterpanakhet. It made sense to him; of course he wasn't descended from a god. He was descended from an incredibly strong Vampire. If that legacy was within his lineage, than he to could attain that power.

It took Nesmeterpanakhet nearly a full year after his release to fully assimilate all of the information he was given, after all two thousand years had passed since he was forced into torpor by the werewolf, Darius. The Cobras wanted his help in accomplishing their goal of becoming gods and in return they offered the same as well as revenge. The main reasons why they wanted to release Nesmeterpanakhet was due to his oracle abilities and the prestige he could bring their small, growing group.

He took a place of prestige among the Setites within his new sect. Since the Cobras were so young, they have few vampires of real age and power. Nesmeterpanakhet being a true ancient, and a powerful one at that, brought with him the prestige his name carried. He knew that that was a reason they wanted him, but he also knew that because of his power that they feared him. He relished it. They were in awe of his strength. Now he had at his disposal minions of all types, vampires and ghouls alike. He used his power to begin searching for the werewolf and his descendants. Revenge was his to be had and he had eternity to get it.

Nesmeterpanakhet also turned to the Camarilla to accomplish his goals. Yes, he was technically part of the Sabbat, but he still held respect just due to his legacy. And he is generally just looked upon another Setites anyway, and not many are part of the Sabbat. He began working with a Camarilla named Vivian, and through her he will attain his goals. He will become a god among immortals.
