| Classified Report: Project Black Scroll Lieutenant Wiri was recently shot down when his TIE was ambushed by a group of 17 rebel terrorists, he was the only pilot of 6 escorting a convoy of freighters that even managed to survive. His fighter made a hard landing on the surface of Rori. A squadron of medics was sent to rescue him from his downed fighter. When they found him, his body was badly burned and his legs were irreparable due to the plasma conduit, which is located beneath the floor plating of most TIEs, blew. He was taken to a Star Destroyer orbiting Naboo, where we had him immersed in Bacta for 2 days. When he was finally taken out, he was alive, but horribly injured. His body, from his waist down, was damaged beyond modern medicines capabilities to repair. His left eye was damaged, causing blindness. His intestines were damaged and had to be replaced by an artificial system. When he was finally taken out of the Bacta bath, I had them ask if he wanted to be fit with prosthetic legs, he agreed. Then we offered him the chance to be even more capable than he was before...he agreed, logically. From here, we had him transferred to the Emperor's facility hidden on Wayland. It took a bit to get back unnoticed, but we made sure no one will find out about the Emperor's facility from us. We had some of General Mohc's techs that developed the Phase One and Two Darktroopers transferred here secretly, along with a few examples of the Phase One and Phase Two Darktroopers. We have been working for months on combining the technology of a Darktrooper with the intelligence of a real soldier, time and again has proven that droids alone are not the best troopers. The Iridonian test subjects proved to be most helpful in the past 7 months of testing. This was actually surprisingly easy, the only thing we had to do was reverse engineer so we would fully understand the parts and then we merely had to develop a way of integrating the Darktrooper parts into the subject, and connect them to the subject's nervous system, which is done every day with civilian cybernetic replacements. I had all of Lt. Wiri's medical record sent ahead so that by the time we arrive, the parts were mostly ready. We had a pair of legs, based off of the Phase One's design, ready to be fitted. In it would be a battle-ready version of his artificial digestive system, magnetic feet for zero-g, and a personal shield generator. His left eye will be replaced with a cybernetic eye that looks exactly like a real eye. It functions in much the same way, except when he wears his modified armor it ties in with the HUD. His armor is a modified pilot helm and Stormtrooper armor. The helmet is designed with a life support system, much in the same way as AT pilots are, making him able to survive on the harshest of planets. His armor is the same as a Stormtrooper's armor, except it has an inner lining that seals him off from the elements. Much like the typical Radtrooper armor, he is capable of surviving in open space for short periods of time, much like them. This little innovation was a brilliant idea on my part. We have sent him back to his unit, to see how he fairs. We are not sure though, as to whether or not some, if not full, psychological conditioning will be needed/appropriate. He would be a better leader without conditioning, but we will use the Inquisition to keep an eye on him, to see if he needs a "follow up" with us. -Arim Conridge, Head Technician. Classified Progress Report: Project Black Scroll We felt that the initial testing of the Black Scroll Prototype was successful and that it was time to take him to the next stage. We had the prototype transported secretly back to Wayland. The initial tests using the Phase One Darktrooper parts worked well, but the lack of plastisteel armor was causing problems. His new legs are now armored with the latest armor. It is a white plastisteel/fiber mesh. It was quite brilliant on my part. It has the energy dissipating properties of a typical suit of plastisteel armor yet has the flexibility of clothing around the joints. We also realized that there were a few weak spots in the armor, so we added reinforcements to certain areas, which we made the reinforcements in the bright red of his Highness' Royal Guards. For the legs, we took the original design and had to make it smaller, to look more human. The new legs are not bulky like the originals. They perform exactly the same as the originals, yet are shaped just like typical human legs. We then attached the new armor over the legs creating the illusion of a normal full waist and legs. We then had a set of armor created for his upper body, and the helm is the same, but a newer design for the HUD inside. It now contains different types of vision. We provided him with Night-vision and Infrared. He is fully functional and we suggest we be authorized to continue with this line of soldier, which we are calling the Dark Commando. I am quite proud of my achievement. -Arim Conridge, Head Technician. Classified Progress Report: Project Blackscroll After the oversight of my former superior and the failure of the prototype in his campaign against the Rebels after the attempted Carida invasion, we felt it was necessary to bring the prototype back in for some conditioning, and a few more substantial upgrades. First we began by installing a small, advanced droid brain into Captain Wiri's head. It is fully integrated into his brain. He is merely a supplement to his normal brain functions. It allows him to better integrate with the mechanical systems of his suit. Basically it lets him know what is going on without checking displays. It provides faster communication between him and his suit. The brain also contains advanced sniper and assassin protocols and tactics. The Emperor feels that the Dark Commandoes would better serve as assassins/battlefield snipers rather than typical rank and file troopers. His cybernetic eye has been upgraded with an advanced targeting system that should allow him to have improved aim at greater distances. He should be able to accurately hit a moving target at 2,500 meters+. After his upgrades and maintenance were completed, he was placed in an intensive psychological conditioning program. He is one of the most effective snipers in the Imperial military. -Orrn Degbes, Head Technician. |
