WHO IS
WORTHY TO
WEAR THE
CROWN?
With  the approach of  Binibining  Pili- pinas  2001,  more and more eyes are on  the  lookout for possible contenders for the coveted title of Miss Philippines.
We  continue  our search and see how
many  more  gems are  out  there  just waiting to be disco-
vered.  Let's  go !!!
"Who is this girl?"
..was the  first ques- tion  that  popped in my head! The facial features  and  bone structure  are unpa-ralleled.  Striking beauty  that  can
pass  for  Filipina, Puerto Rican or In-dian! I give her a 9.99!  Clearly the product of a mixed marriage! Absolute-
ly gorgeous!!!"

MODELS OF THE MOMENT
"Models of the moment. Let's put them to the test! From left to right, Vanessa del Bianco is  perfect  for  a regional pageant like the Miss Asia Pacific. I'm not really impressed that much.  An  8.80  is  more  than  generous.  Kristine  Hermosa, on the other hand, is Miss International  material.  A  9.30 is good enough for her spunky look that the Japanese find appealing.  Janette  McBride should  be  sent  to  Miss World. Reminds a bit of Abbygale Arenas.  I  give  her  a  9.32,  nothing  less,  nothing more. Last but certainly not the least, Anne Larucea, not beauty queen material in my honest opinion. Sorry, no offense meant."
JOANNA DIZON
Beautiful,  beautiful,  beautiful! Need I say more?  Joanna  is  still  currently in school,
has  modeled  here  and  there, and is defi-nitely  a  pageant  queen in the making! the question  is :  Is  she  interested at all in be-
coming the next Miss Philippines?
JOANNA DIZON : A BREATH OF FRESH AIR
Joanna  is  very photogenic! Fresh, bubbly and pretty, this student just needs another year or two and she'll be ready. I'll  send  her either to Miss Universe or Miss World. With her  'breath-of-fresh-air'  looks,  she  gets a 9.85 from me. With  proper  training and packaging, we are all looking at
a  potential  winner here! Reminds me of Lalaine Bennett,
Miss Philippines Universe of 1963."
                                                                    -Heimlich
Michelle  is  a high school student at the Assumption and  is  seriously considering of going to De La Salle College.  Just  like Joanna, she has modeled intermit-tently.  This  charming  teenager has all the reason to
be  in  the  limelight. Her sparkling eyes and 24 karat smile may just be what we need to shine in the inter- national  pageant  scene.  Undoubtedly a pretty face!
"Very  schoolgirl  looks! The freshness and vibrance
of  youth  is  quite  obvious.  Seems to me this girl is there  not  only  to  make  a living but also to have a good  time & enjoy every bit of what life is really all about. Good! She knows how to have fun!"
                                                         -Pageant Fan
"Aha!  Another  teenager still not quite ready for the international  pageant scene! Never the less, the ma-gic is there and the looks are good enough. A perfect set of teeth, good bone structure, a charming counte-
nance, what else does she need? I bet if ever she de-cides  to  join Binibini,  she'll be perfect for the Miss Universe Pageant. I give her a 9.68."

MICHELLE TEVES
MODEL MANIA
CONTINUES !
"Most  beauty  queens end up as mo- dels but not all models can be beauty
queens!  Yes,  models  are gorgeous,
but becoming a beauty queen is more
than  just  a  pretty face. Sure, brains count  a lot, and so does the ability to communicate!  Gone  are the days of simple "I want to save the world" an-
swers in the interview portion. Today, a  beauty queen should be able to talk, talk  and  talk about almost anything!"
"Amanda Griffin,  Cristina Garcia and
Joey Mead, three of Manila's most in-teresting  faces.  Both  Cristina's  and Amanda's potentials have already been discussed  earlier,  so let's  turn our at- tention this time to Joey Mead. Joey is tall,  dark and unique. With her perpe- tual  tan,  she  is  perfect for the Miss
Universe  Pageant  where  a  gal with uncommon  looks  is an advantage in attracting media attention! Given that she is able to express herself well, she gets  a  9.30.  Perhaps  if another pic-
ture  of  her  was  available,  I  would
have scored her a little bit higher."

                                       -Heimlich
Preview  maga-zine voted  this young model as one of its Eleven Most South after Faces in its June 2000 issue. Dis-covered  at  the
tender age of 13, Malou  has en- dorsed everything from  chocolates to  toothpaste  to designer jewelry! Is she a potential binibini? What do you think?
              -David
MALOU ARANETA
"It  is  more than just a pretty face or  a  love  affair with the camera. What  is  her height?  Can  she speak well? What is her educational background? These  are  just some of the other factors  to  consi-der  in  trying  to gauge  whether this  girl  is  a potential Binibini or  not. The task
is  never  really
that easy!"

     -Pageant Fan
"Malou is gorgeous! But I say more suitable for  Miss  World than for Miss Universe. In
all  fairness  to this girl,  I  give  her  a  9.05. Malou need more polishing."
