I picked up my first henna kit in 1999. It was at that time that I discovered that Mehndi was a wonderful natural alternative to the permanent tattoos we're more familiar with. What also interested me was it's long history of use in many different cultures.
I've been an artist for many years, and this seemed to be a fun and interesting way of expressing my art. What a better way than to have it wandering around the city on people's skin!
I've been inspired by the folks from the community at The Henna Page. If you're interested in learning more about the art, and how to start the craft yourself, I highly recommend visiting us there. I will also be offering classes this year, so check back for class schedules.
On 4-11-05, I decided it was time to get serious about the craft so I established myself as a business here in Oklahoma and obtained my sales tax permit. In the future I will be offering henna kits and supplies, so check back.
A note about this site: This is just a temporary set up until I complete what will be the permanent home for Magickal Mehndi.
