| Chapter Fifty Three If I have but very little knowledge, I walk the Broad Path of Dao, I act in accordance but also fear of current power. Although the Broad Dao is wide, the common people all love small roads. The Courts are exceedingly splendid, yet the rice fields must be weeding; The reserves are increasingly empty, yet their clothes are bright and elegant; Carries sharp swords, loves to glut with food and wine, to have more possessions than they really need. Such is called the "Self-Bloated Dao", which is not the real Dao indeed!! (Heng: I can't emphasize enough how small men always glorify what they have achieved with the use of capitalism as the 'real Dao' to follow and further define them as the pathway for everyone to excel. What stupidity they have emersed themselves into. The Return is not too far away.) |
