| Chapter Fifty One The Dao gives birth to it, the Power (De) crystalizes it and fosters its existence, process of solidification shapes it into matter (wu), environmental circumstances and directions (shi) then completes it. Therefore all myriad things do not value Dao but treasure their already manifested Existence (De). (Heng: Hence called Dao De Jing, where Dao manifests the De into existence. Daoism metaphysics is the most convincing that I have ever known. Heidegger is merely trying to recover it.) Dao as Supreme, De as Precious, One does not strive to 'live a life' but daseins in the naturalness of life. Therefore the Dao gives birth to it, the De rears it; to stay in naturalness is to be reared by Dao, and fulfill naturally to complete itself. To stay in the shelter is to poison life itself, this principle enables the cyclical nourishing of Life. Hence to be born is not to possess it, to act is not to rely upon it, to sustain forever is not to sever it, such is called the Cosmological Karma (Xuan De). (Heng: How divine! Wu Wei er Wu Bu Wei!! What Karma can be greater than this? The Dao fulfills it!!) |
