| Chapter Thirty Seven Knowing the Cycle of the Dao, hence Wu Wei er Wu Bu Wei!!: Adopt Non-Action and there is nothing that cannot be fulfilled. (Heng: my favourite line so I must emphasize fully) If the ministers and kings can guard this approach, all Myriad Things will find its own natural place. After settling down, there are social dynamics, I will accord it with the adoption of the nameless Uncarved Block (Pu). With the nameless Uncarved Block, the masses will not have any desires. With no desires, there will be tranquility and silence, and the whole World will attain its natural harmony. (Heng: It is extremely difficult to understand what this Chapter is pointing to and understand the divinity contained within its texts. The Chapter's simple words: "Wu Wei er Wu Bu Wei" changed my whole cosmological perception ever since I read the original Chinese texts a few years ago. I don't expect any reader to understand it now... it depends on your personal experiences with life. But it is important to note there are natural realities out there that will always balance out by themselves. Such balance is NOT caused by any so-called Economics and Political interventions which mistakenly draw their own legitimizing justifications from quasi-spurious Positivistic data!!) |
