| Chapter Twenty Seven True acts are not empirically traceable, true words are not etymologically polished. The perfect reckoner needs no tedious calculations, the perfect enclosure needs no safety bolts and nuts. the perfect contract needs no clauses for definition. (Heng: Eg: Marriage. Do you need to define all the clauses for such union, and make sure you settle them one by one thereafter?) Hence the Enlightened knows perfectly how to save mankind, and does not forsake anyone. By actions, others in turn define his acts, hence there is no one he cannot save! Such is to follow his Divine Inspirations. (Heng: Although he may one day die, his Spirit remains for all to follow. Buddha and Jesus are two very good examples) Hence although the Enlightened manages the scheme of things, he is not good at teaching others (his knowledge and wisdom). The mundane person who is not good at managing, in turn can become the teacher to all other people. (Heng: it is obvious Confucious is a Teacher) (Therefore I beseech) Do not value the teacher, Do not value his moral teachings, if not you will only have knowledge but do not gain true wisdom. Such is the essential secret to attain Divinity (Miao). |
