Ah Heng's Daoism Page
Chapter Twenty One

All myriad things are manifested
from the Dao that is all-pervasive and which shapes it.

What is the Dao?
It is both incommensurable and impalpable
(Heng:
Huang Hu, cannot be measured and is intangible, between the realm of 'being and non-being')
Yet within this incommensurability and impalpability,
there exist latent forms (
xiang) and manifested entities (wu).
Hidden within this subtle dimension,
there is the crystallized potential (
jing),
when the force is released and emerges into reality,
there arises empirical proofs and beliefs (
xing).

From the ancient times till now,
its name remains for eternity,
from which we can read the great ontology of all things.
How do we know the ontology of all things?
It is through this (the Dao).
