| Name: Santa Ines Cabernet Sauvignon Type: Red Cabernet Sauvignon Vintage: 2001 Producer: Santa Ines Origin: Chile, Maipo Valley Status: -- Place of Purchase: NTUC Fair Price (Tampines) Description: At first I didn't think much of Chilean wines until I tasted a sample of this in the NTUC supermarket. The tastes of delicious berries and fruits immediately win me over so I bought a bottle and try at home. In the end, I'm glad that I bought this wine. Firstly this wine is bubbling with youth and indeed tastes very fruity and nice. The tannicity is just right and combines to give much structure to the wine. Best of all, you won't believe how much this fine wine costs... Only $17!! Wow, what can I say? This wine is so good and so value for money that I must recommend it to all of you! Not as tannic as other wines, beginners would like it too! So go buy it now!! Rating: 8, a fantastic bargain!! A must-buy!! |
| Name: Beringer White Zinfandel Type: Rose Zinfandel Vintage: 2001 Producer: Beringer Winery Origin: Napan Valley, California Status: -- Place of Purchase: NTUC Fair Price (Bedok) Description: This wine is even better than the last Anjou rose wine that I have drunk. It's so delightful that I can't put it down! Tasting relatively sweet, brimming with a orangey taste and a fine hint of oak, it doesn't taste much different from pleasant soft drinks that you commonly drink. In fact, apart from fine Beaujolais, this is the best tasting wine that I have ever drunk. Now I know why white zinfandel is one of the most popular wine in US - it is simply crafted to suit the popular taste. And coming from the famous Napa Valley of Beringer, what can you ask for for such quality and pleasant-tasting wine? With a price tag of $21+, this wine is indeed very value for money. Everyone should try this wine, even non-wine drinkers would like it. Rating: 9, very pleasant tasting wine, very delightful! |
