Ninja Ryukenden II - The Dark Sword of Chaos
Ryukenden II has the best story-line in the trilogy. In this installation, Irene has been abducted by an unknown assailant while on a secret mission of the CIA. Ryu traces the clues and tries to hunt down the abductor. Soon he meets Robert, another agent who works together with Ryu to save Irene. In the process, they are being attacked by strange assailants who later turn out to be the minions from the World of Chaos.
After numerous struggles, Ryu and Robert finally catch up with Ashtear, the Emporer of Darkness. They soon uncover his sinister plot to use Irene in a diabolical sacrifice... her blood is to be awashed on the Devil Sword to remove its seal and to resurrect its power again. The Devil Sword is the the exact polar opposite of the Dragon Blade and contains great demonic powers, but this resurrection is only the beginning. The sword in fact holds the key to open the Gateway of Chaos into our world. If Ashtear succeeds in unleashing the gateway, it would surely bring untold madness to humanity�
This second installation depicts a very powerful evil force from the other side. In the development of the story, Ryu and Robert struggle extremely hard against all odds to defeat powerful evil minions that stand in their way, including the resurrection of Jaquio (Dark Lord of Part 1) near the end of the game. Also, the ending promises a surprise to players who has followed the story so far.
Ninja Ruykenden III � The Ancient Ark of Doom
In Ryukenden III, the Dark Lords have been vanquished from the previous games but Ryu faces new challenges he has never thought of before. In the last installation, the game begins when Irene is under threat again. This time, she is chased by an unknown ninja that vividly resembles Ryu. While running, he forces her to the edge of a cliff and Irene falls down with consequences unknown.
Irene is assumed dead by the CIA but Ryu doesn't give up. Thinking that she's still alive, he retraces the clues of the case that Irene is investigating. In the process, Ryu discovers an abandoned laborotory deep in the jungle. Soon he meets a strange person who tells him about a mad scientist�s plot to carry out forbidden bio-tech experiments. The scientist had tried to extract the Dark Lord�s powers from dimensional rifts created by the World of Chaos, and fused them together with their own to become super human beings. In fact, the first BIO-NOID has already been created.
Deep within the laboratories, Ryu fights against monsters, defeats the BIO-NOID and also meets with his Nemesis, an evil duplicate of himself responsible for Irene's disappearance. He subsequently uncovers a greater plot: the scientist intend to resurrect an Ancient Ark of Doom which contains immense power capable of destroying the world. It is up to Ryu once again to save Irene and the world from evil's threat. |
