Long ago, before Christianity completely spread throughout the Philippines, the almighty Bathala sensed that old ways would soon die out. To preserve their untouched, eternal beauty, Bathala created a world of Engkanta. In this wonderful, mysterious world, time stands still; this way the old lore would never vanish. It has been so since it's creation. Mythical creatures of both light and darkness dwell within its lands, waters, and skies, coexisting with Bathala's greatest creations: humans. Bathala soon realized that his children needed a leader to make sure the world stayed as it was. The people needed a leader that held the knowledge they didn't. Bathala chose four people of our world to act as priests, Anitos , guardians, gatekeepers, lower dieties, etc. He decided that every thousand years, a new diety would be chosen to replace another. The one being replaced is granted one wish by the great Narra tree, Bathala's most powerful missionary from the Eknganta world, and the bridge between worlds, at the end of their term. This has also been the way since the Engkanta world's creation. The chain has never been broken...until now.
