Gabrielle and Aphrodite appeared in a stone cave just as a
tornado started revolving around Zeus and Hera.
"No dad!" Aphrodite screams. The
tornado stops and Hera falls to the ground unconscious. Ares appears by his
mother and kneels next to her.
"Yeah, no dad," he says without
much enthusiasm.
"What are you doing here?" Zeus
asked, angry but confused.
"We came from the future. Well actually
they came from the future, I just followed." Ares nodded his head towards
his half-sister and Gabrielle.
"The future?" Zeus gasped.
"Yes and in the future you are dead. And
Athena is dead, and so is Artemis and uncle Hades and the list goes on
dad," Aphrodite said to her father.
"The baby killed you then," Zeus
said, flaring up again. Gabrielle decided it was time to jump in.
"No, Xena killed them and Hercules
killed you." Gabrielle told him.
"What's the bard doing here?"
"Listen to me King of Gods!"
Gabrielle finally lost her temper. "You all died because you were afraid
of Eve."
"Eve is Xena's child?" He asked,
getting some of his sense back.
"Yes! You were about to kill your wife,
Hera, Queen of God just because you are afraid of a baby. What does that say
about you Zeus?" Gabrielle asked quietly.
"Yeah, listen to the irritating blond
dad, she may be on to something." (I won't even have to tell you who said
that.)
"But the fates said that this girl...Eve
brings the Twilight of the Gods," Zeus said slowly.
"What do the fates know? Weren't those
destiny people about to cut Xena's life line if she killed Hope? But she
didn't, I did. Why were they preparing to do that if they already knew the
future, knew that I would be the one to kill my daughter? Because they don't
know the future Zeus, they predict it. They predicted that you would get angry
and try to kill Xena and her baby and they predicted that Hercules would
protect them, therefore killing you. They predicted the rest of the gods would
get angry and they predicted that Xena would kill the rest of the gods to
protect her daughter. What would happen if you didn't try to kill the
baby?" Gabrielle's confidence grew as she realized the King of Gods was
actually listening to her.
"The only thing to fear is fear itself.
We make our own destiny, which path do you choose now that you know that
Hercules has the power to kill you?" she asked.
"Come on dad!" Aphrodite begged.
"Yeah, come on pops." Ares said
sarcastically. Both Gabrielle and Aphrodite glared at him. Hera stirred in
Ares's arms. Zeus looked at Gabrielle for a long time before moving over to Hera
and kissing her on the forehead.
"Zeus?" Hera whispered.
"Sorry, dear. Everything's going to be
okay." Zeus kissed Hera again.
"Let's go welcome a baby," Zeus
finally said to the rest of them. Gabrielle and Aphrodite exchanged a look and
grinned.

They appeared somewhere in the forest and saw
Hercules who immediately stood in front of Zeus. His father sighed.
"Don't worry son, I'm not here to harm
the woman or her child." Hercules looked at him skeptically and led
everyone to Xena, although still keeping a very close eye on his father and
still holding the rib. Hera immediately bent over Xena to give her instruction
on the deliverance. Aphrodite went and helped too. Ares pulled Gabrielle aside
and took her to some trees out of listening range of the others.
"Are you crazy? Did you know that he
could've fried you? Didn't the dangers occur to you? What possessed you to do
something like that? Why is it women always do crazy things? Do you think the
future is mended now?" Ares started screaming. He didn't know why he was
shouting at the bard who just saved his family. A voice inside him told him
that he was concerned about the blond but he pushed it aside. Gabrielle wasn't
going to give Ares anything though.
"In answer to your questions. No, yes,
yes, Aphrodite, I don't know and I hope so. In that order." Gabrielle said
calmly, raising her head and locking glares with Ares.
"So are you saying I went through that
farming nonsense for nothing?" he growled. Gabrielle couldn't help
laughing.
"Yes." Ares looked livid.
"I'm out of here," He said,
clicking his fingers to get ready to disappear.
"Aren't you even going to go see the
baby?" Gabrielle asked him.
"Tempting but...no. I've already seen
Livia, Gabrielle." And he vanished.
"It's Eve!" The bard shouted at the
spot where he was standing. She whirled around and kicked a big stone because
she hated the fact that Ares still saw Eve as Livia the Destroyer. The rock
flew extremely high and went through the leaves of a tree. Gabrielle then grabbed
her foot realizing it's in pain from the kicking and hopped off. Had she had
Xena's keen sense of smell she would've realized that the man she was screaming
to never left.

Later when the gods and Hercules had all
left, Gabrielle sat down by Xena who was holding the baby.
"Gabrielle, her name is Eve. Solan named
her." Xena said softly. Gabrielle smiled.
"Brilliant." She whispered.

"You're watching her." Aphrodite
appeared by Ares's throne in his temple and looked at the image on the wall.
"What do you want?" Ares asked his
favourite sister.
"Not much. I went to see the fates. They
said the twilight has come and gone."
"Great, so I lost my powers for a while
for nothing." Ares drawled loudly. Aphrodite sighed and changed the
subject.
"So...why are you watching her? You're
in love with her aren't you?"
"Sis..."
"Don't `sis' me Ares! I'm the Goddess of
Love, I know these things!"
"Well I'm not so sure about `in love'
yet but I do admire her courage and strength a lot. She's beautiful and
stunning and she's someone I'll always love no matter what she thinks of
me." Aphrodite stomped her feet in anger.
"You're impossible brother!" She
cried, "I wasn't talking about Xena!" And with that she disappeared.
Ares focused his attention back to the wall.
"Well I wasn't either..." He
shrugged.
