Dear G & L Hunting Club Members,

To begin, all of the members of G&L Hunting Club are most appreciated for all of the hard work and dedication each and everyone has contributed to the club. Without you, we would not have the club we have today. It takes team work to make each of our hunting seasons successful, and the rewarding part is not only the nice bucks that are taken but the camaraderie of family and friends.  Also, I would personally like to thank each and everyone of you for attending our planned meeting. It is vitally important that the first meeting of every year be attended in order for our next hunting season to be a productive one.

Order of business is as follows:

1. Ron awarded Jimmy Bartlett with a plaque and an award certificate for the "Hunter of the Year" for the 2001-2002
hunting season. As you all know, Jack Barley passed away recently. Jimmy & Jack were best of friends (we can tell you some stories about those two, lol), and on Jimmy's award certificate, I had placed a picture of Jimmy and Jack with Jimmy's buck. Again, CONGRATS Jimmy!

2. Jack Barley passed away recently. Ron and I, and a few others, attended his funeral. The members had a chance to
remember Jack and say a few words. He is missed dearly and deer camp just won't be quite the same without him. We will carry on with our campfire traditions Jack, lol.. Your jokes and stories will be long rembered and repeated..  May your soul rest in peace and God Bless..

3.  Ron and Frank attended the meeting in Camden back in March. Fourlakes is still somewhat on shakey ground concerning the sale of the land. But from what we understand, even if the land sales, we will be able to keep our lease.

4. Charles Self (Camden Game Biologist) will be working with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commision effective
May 31, 2002.

5. G&L Hunting Club will still adhere to the 5 point rule. If you have any questions, you can read the information on
the AG&F page.

6. Jessie read to the members a letter he recieved concerning the price increase on our hunting lease and
insurance. This in turn increased our dues to $425.00. The increase with dues was voted upon my members and accepted.

7.  Any new members that would like to join G&L Hunting Club will be screened before being accepted for membership.
The screening will take place on a work weekend.

8. Jessie must have the dues "BY" May 15, 2002. There is no exceptions. We have to have the money turned in by our
specified date. If he does not recieve anyone's dues by then, the member is automatically considered out of the club and
the member has to remove his stand(s) and return his key.

9. Voting of Officers took place. Gary Wynn was voted new President, Bill Geaslin stays V-President and Jessie Hallmon
is still Treasurer.

10. Al Geaslin was voted in as a new "Honorary Member."

11. By-Laws will still be adhered too. One change in the By-Laws is that no stand can be any closer to another stand
of 400 yards.

12. A new phone roster/e-mail roster will be updated and sent out as soon as possible.

13.
Work Days are as follows: 18-19 May 2002
                                                28-29 September 2002

Thank you all once again for attending our first meeting, and I will see you at our first work weekend.
