The workshop announcement (shown below) promised that residents would have the "opportunity to discuss land use options" and to "make their views known".  It suggested that input received from residents could influence future land use planning in Gordon Head.  These stated objectives could not be met with an agenda that restricted discussion, an agenda that focused discussion on the Village Concept to the exclusion of other lands use options.

Gordon Head Residents!

Attend a community workshop to discuss
Land Use Options for the
Tyndall-San Juan Property

The District of Saanich and the Gordon Head Residents’ Association are jointly sponsoring a community meeting to discuss alternative uses for the vacant 4-hectare parcel bounded by Tyndall Avenue and Kenmore Road. The workshop will run from:

7:00 -10:00p.m., Wednesday March 28
at
Gordon Head United Church,
4201Tyndall Ave
Registration and displays will be open at 6.30. Please
register early – workshop starts at 7.00p.m. prompt.

The meeting will allow you to learn about the subdivision proposed for the property and an alternative mixed-use " village" concept.  Participants will have an opportunity to discuss land use options on the site and to make their views known to the District of Saanich and the Gordon Head Residents’ Association.  Input received will help the developer and the planning department decide whether to consider changes to the Tyndall / Kenmore site plan, and may influence future land use planning in Gordon Head.

We look forward to seeing you at the
workshop.
