God Send
Overview: Paul and Jessie Duncan (Greg Kinnear and Rebecca
Romijn-Stamos) live in the city with their eight year old
son Adam (Cameron Bright). A terrible car accident claims Adam's
life. One of Jessie's former teachers, Dr Wells (Robert
De Niro) approaches them with the idea of cloning Adam so they can
have their son back.
My Rating: Not bad. I guess I expected worse. After Adam is "re
born" and starts having his night terrors, the movie
will keep you on the edge of your seat.
More Detail: When Jessie and Paul are first approached by Dr. Wells,
Paul is dead set against doing it. Jessie wants her
little boy back. They only have a few days to get good DNA from
Adam's body. After watching some videos of
Adam, Paul gives in and they have the procedure.
As part of the deal they can not tell anyone what they are doing and
they have to move, cutting off all ties with family
and friends, anyone who knew Adam. Dr. Wells gets Paul a job and even
puts them in a house.
The new Adam is born and everything seems fine. The night after his 8
birthday things start to change. Adam starts
having night mares of everyone in school laughing at him. When Paul
and Jessie can't wake him they take him to Dr. Wells.
He tells them everything is ok, just a case of Night terrors.
As time goes on, Adam becomes more and more distant. Dis obeys his parents, spits on kids and teachers in school.
Paul and Jessie are concerned that Adam is having memories of when he
died, again the Doctor tells them that can not
happen. Paul wants to take Adam to another doctor but is talked out
of it.
During one of Adam's nightmares Paul talks to him to try and get some
information. A boy from Adam's school is missing
and Paul fears Adam may have had something to do with it.
During a session with Dr. Wells, Adam tells them about a school fire,
he even gives them the school name. He also says
His name is not Adam it is Zack. Paul does some digging around and
finds out a boy named Zack burned down the
school and also killed his mother. The father was at work, he was a Doctor.
Turns out Dr. Wells cloned the baby to be Adam on the outside and his
own dead son, Zack on the inside. Now Paul
is off to try and keep Adam from killing Jessie.
The Girl Next Door
Overview: Matthew Kidman is a clean cute high school senior. When
Danielle moves next door, his world is turned
upside down. Danielle is a former adult star trying to get out of the
business. Can Matthew get her out of the business
and not wreck his life at the same time?
My Rating: I can sum this up in two words, Elisha Cuthbert. She is
drop dead gorgeous as Danielle. Excellent romantic
comedy.
More Detail: Matthew (Emile Hirsch) is his school's president. As all
the other Senior's party and cut class at the end of
the year, Matt and his friends Eli and Klitz, talk about raising
hell, but never do.
Matt has been accepted to Georgetown University. He needs to write a
speech to get the scholarship that will allow him to
go. While working on his speech he sees Danielle (Cuthbert).
In his room he spies on her changing and she catches him. She goes
next door and knocks on the door. Matt figures he is
screwed, but she just wanted to introduce herself to his parents and
him. He goes out to show her around town. She pulls
her car over and tells him to get out and strip. You saw me, I should
see you. Of course she drives away leaving him with
no clothes.
Danielle and Matt start hanging out. She is wild compared to Matt and
has him trying new things. Skipping class and going
for a midnight swim in someone else's pool.
Matt's friend, Eli, is a porn freak and shows Matt a tape of
Danielle. Taking some bad advice from Eli, Matt takes Danielle
to a cheap motel. She knows he has found out and plays along before
leaving him.
He goes back to apologize to her later and meets Kelly, her producer. She is starting back up in the business.
Kelly lets Matt hang around for a bit. They seem like friends but
Kelly wants Matt out of the way. Kelly and Danielle go to
the Adult show in Vegas. Eli, Klitz and Matt follow.
Matt gets roughed up by Kelly, but manages to tell Danielle she doesn't have to do this and she is better then this.
Danielle leaves and goes back to Matt, this really upsets Kelly.
Kelly sets up Matt at a robbery of another producer. He
also steals the $25,000 the school raised to bring a student from
Cambodia to America.
To get the money back, Matt recruits Eli, Klitz and a couple of
Danielle's work friends, April and Ferrari to make a film
at prom. Kelly's producer rival, Hugo agrees to buy the film and
split the proceeds 50/50 if they pull it off.
At Prom they make their movie. Matt almost had to step in when one of
the guys they got at school could not perform. But
he was thinking too much of Danielle and could not go through, Klitz
stepped up to do the scene.
The next day the tape was missing. Kelly took the tape and was at
Matt's house. He wanted the money Matt was going to
get or he would show it to the principal and Matt's parents. Matt
said I don't care go ahead.
The tape was a Sex ed video, not a porno. Eli had been wanting to do
a new version of the boring sex ed video you
always see in High school. The big scene was proper technique for
putting on a Condom.
Hellboy
Overview: In 1944, during World War II the Bureau of Paranormal
Research and Defense was created to combat Hitler's
love of the occult. A mad monk, Rasputin, opens a Tran dimensional
portal and the demon Hellboy comes out. The
US interferes in the process and takes in Hellboy. He becomes our
first line of defense against monsters in the world.
My Rating: Good Sci-Fi Flick. A lot of action. The "hot" Selma Blair stars as Liz, a fire starter. Get it, Hot.
More Detail: When Hellboy came through the portal in 1944, he was
taken in by scientist Trevor Broom. Broom and
the soldiers are the ones that names Hellboy because of his red color
and large right hand made of rock.
In present day, Hellboy and Broom work for the Bureau of Paranormal
Research and Defense. Basically this is a freak
house with Hellboy and Abe Sapien, an alien that can live in and out
of the water and is highly intelligent.
Broom is old and dyeing. He is hiding this fact from Hellboy. A new
FBI recruit, John Myers, joins the bureau to take over
for Broom.
In 1944, Rasputin along with his girlfriend Ilsa and a skilled Nazi
assassin all disappeared. They are back now looking
for Hellboy, he is the key to unlocking the Tran Dimensional Portal
and releasing monsters on the earth. They have sprung
this squid like creatures that don't die on the city already.
Hellboy has a crush on this girl Liz. Liz is a firestarter who left
the Bureau. Outside of the Bureau she has learned to control
her fire starting up till a visit from Rasputin. Myers convinces her
to come back to the agency.
After Broom and other agents are slaughtered by the squid creatures
and Rasputin's army, they go to Russia to the sight of
the portal.
In the final battle, Hellboy almost unlocks the portal to save to Liz
but instead destroys Rasputin and his army. Liz is all
so saved.
