American Wedding

Overview: Jim and Michelle from the American Pie movies have finished college and are getting married. Jim will be
meeting Michelle's parents for the first time. What kind of an impression will he make along with his friends, Finch, Kevin,
and of course, Stifler.

My Rating: Like all the Pie movies, this one was funny. Some of the jokes were gross and maybe offensive to some, but
it was like all the other movies.

More Detail: Jim and Michelle are out at dinner. Jim wants to ask her to marry him and he has hidden the ring box
in her napkin, which she hasn't picked up yet. He tells her he has something he wants to ask her and maybe she can
use her napkin. Just then Jim's dad calls. Jim left the ring at the house, his dad is on the way. Michelle thinks she knows
what Jim wants to ask her, put she doesn't need a napkin. She slides under the table and unzips his pants.

On queue, Jim's dad walks in and starts talking to his son. Jim tries to keep his composure. Seeing how nervous and flush
his son looks, Jim's Dad helps him up to take a walk. Jim is standing there with his pants around his ankles. Everyone in
the restraunt is horrified. Michelle comes up and Jim proposses and she excepts. Let the fun begin.

Jim, Kevin, Finch and Michelle agree that Stifler will NOT be at the wedding. Stifler shows up unannouced at the
engagment party. He thinks it is a graduation party but soon finds out otherwise. Jim tries to get him to leave but when they
bump each other, Stifler's pants are now covered in cake frosting. Enter one of the dogs that belongs to Michelle's
parents. The dog starts to lick Stifler's crotch. Jim, also in frosting with his pants down, tries to pull the dog off Stifler. Enter
the other dog that is now humping Jim's leg. Now enter Jim's parents and Michelle's parents, meet your son-in-law.

Stifler gets to be in the wedding by helping Jim learn to dance. Stifler and Finch also compete for the love of Michelle's
little sister, Cadence. Stifler becomes a perfect gentleman to impress Cadence and her parents. The parents decide the
wedding ring should be held by Stifler, granting him access to the wedding.

At the wedding site, Stifler and Cadence are out walking the dogs. Cadence wants to see the ring by Stifler says no.
He reaches into his pockets to get the dogs a treat and the ring falls out inside the treat. The dog eats it as Stifler looks on
horrified. Stifler now follows the dogs all day waiting to get the ring back. When he does, he carries it back to his room
in a pastery cup. Michelle's parents stop him and her mom, who really loves chocolate, is interested in the "Truffle" Steven
is holding. Stifler quickly throws it in his mouth. That was one of the grosser scenes.

Other notes:

The Bachelor party was great. Amanda Swisten and Nikki Schieler Ziering where very hot as Fraulein Brandi and Officer
Krystal. Of course this is American Wedding, so nothing goes as planned. Stifler thought Jim was going to be home alone.
After a lot of dancing and spanking, Jim finally arrives him, with his soon to be in-laws. Stifler, takes the fall and keeps
Jim out of trouble with his In-Laws.

In another Stifler saves the day moment, Stifler gets the football team he is coaching to help with the new flowers. The
night before, Stifler turned off the fridge with all the wedding flowers in it, wrecking them all. Stifler also gets credit
for putting a smile on Jim's Grandmothers face. Jim's Grandma did not like Michele, she was not Jewish. Stifler thought
he was in the lined closet with Cadence, he wasn't, guess who he was with?

The Swimming Pool

Overview: Sarah Morton is an author. Her books deal with crime sovling and murder. Her publisher offers his house
in France so she can find some inspiration for her next novel. Sarah finds her inspiration and starts writing. Enter Julie,
the daughter of Sarah's publisher. Julie is a sexy and provactive young woman with an explosive past.

My Rating: Wow. This was a different movie for me, not my usually blood and guts. This movie is quite the mystery. I
still don't get the ending, but Ludivine Sagnier who plays Julie is extremely beautiful and doesn't wear too much in the
movie, so not understanding the ending is ok by me.

More Detail: Sarah is having an affair with her publisher John. The house in Paris is beautiful and has a swimming pool, hence
the title.

John is suppose to come and visit Sarah, but much to Sarah's surprise it is his daughter Julie. Julie is a rebelous child. She
and Sarah clash immediatly. Julie goes out and night and brings a different man home each time.

As Sarah continues to work on her book, she becomes more interested in who Julie is. Investigating like the charatcers
in her books, she finds Julie's journal. She tries to mend the fences with Julie and they go out to dinner. At dinner, Sarah
tries to get more info from Julie about her past. After a couple drinks Julie becomes more talkative. Julie is supporting
a cut near her eye. She tells Sarah someone tried to hit her, but she took care of him, anyone that messes with her should
expect to get some in return.

Julie comes across some of Sarah's work. she is not to happy to see Sarah is writting about her. Julie comes home that night
with Frank. Frank is a man Sarah is interested in who works at a cafe. The three drink, smoke and dance into the evening.
Sarah retires for the evening and Frank goes to leave. Julie talks him into a midnight swim. Sarah looks out the window
and sees Julie getting frisky with Frank, she throws a stone into the pool. Frank gets up and gets dressed as Julie screams
for him not to go.

The next morning Sarah sees that Frank did not show up for work at the Cafe. She also sees blood on the pool deck.
She confronts Julie who starts referring to Sarah as her mother. Julie faints and when she comes to she tells Sarah, she may
have killed Frank. Sure enough she did, his body is in the pool house.

Now it gets wierd.

Sarah helps Julie bury the body. The next day the caretaker is at the house mowing the lawn and comes across the grave.
Sarah calls to him and removes her top. she then makes love to him, I guess that is one way to take his mind off his work.

Julie leaves for a job a friend offered her. She leaves Sarah a book her mother wrote. She had originally told her that the
book was burnt when her father, John, told her mother it wasn't any good. She tells Sarah she can use the book if she wants.

Sarah returns to england and hands the book to John. He does not like it. Sarah figured this much out and already signed
with another publisher. As she is leaving the office, John's daughter comes in, Julia (Not Julie).

Who was Julie? Was she Sarah's daughter? If you figure it out, let me know.

Miracle

Overview: The story of the 1980 Olympic hockey team that shocked the world. Coach Herb Brooks takes a group of boys
and turns them into men.

My Rating: Awesome, see this in the theater if you can, if not rent it when it comes out.

More Detail: Herb Brooks is the coach at the university of Minnesota. He is invited to meet with the 1980 olympic
committee to interview for the team USA coaching job. Brooks pitches to the committee that the only way to win is
to change how the US plays hockey. His ideas are radical, but he gets the job.

Most of the players invited for try outs are from Boston University and Minnesota, two schools that don't get along. Brooks
makes it clear from day one, you do things his way. He is not your friend he's the coach. If you need a friend, speak to the
trainer or assistant coach.

Initially things get off testy between the players. Jack O Callahan from BU has a score to settle with a Minnesota player. He
levels him in practice and the two go at it. Brooks tells the players and coaches to let them go. After they tire out Brooks
starts to have the players introduce themselves and who the play for. Several of the players say their name and school.

Brooks was the final member of the 1960 USA Olympic team to be cut. That team went on to win gold. When Brooks
gets down to his final cut it is a tough descision but he has to make it.

During a practice game overseas, the team ties Sweden (I think). Brooks over hears one of his players on the bench talking
about an attractive girl in the stands. Brooks tells his assitant to get a whistle. As the players skate off the ice they are called
back on. Brooks reads them the riot act and has them pratice. They skate from the goal line, to the blue line, back to the
goal line, to the read line and back to the goal line. They do this for god knows how long. Players are falling, the lights
are turned off in the arena. Finally Mike Eurizone yells his name. When Brooks ask him who do you play for he answers
USA. The practice is over.

Brooks plays mind games all the time. Eurizone is struggling. Brooks brings in another player. Eurizone figures he is gone.
The other players can't believe he would bring someone else on so late. Some of the players call Herb outside the bus
and tell him this guy has to go, when asked why they say the are a family.

Prior to the Olympic games USA plays Russia in an exhibition game. They get smoked. More importantly Jack O gets hurt.
He won't be able to play in the first round. He figures he will be cut, it is too risky to keep him on the roster. Herb
keeps him on.

During the Olympics, Herb does all the interviews. He does not want the focus to be on only a couple players. The press
really wants to talk to goalie Jim Craig, who also had his run ins with Brooks. Brooks played games with him to. In the
end, Craig was great in net. When asked how he (Brooks) would respond to questions that he was taking all the limelight
for himself, he didn't respond that day. He did the next day by having assistant Craig Patrick do the press conference. When
asked where Brooks was, craig responded, preparing for the russians, he was actually in the park with his family.

You all know how the story ends, Team USA goes on the beat the Russians and then win Olympic Gold the next day.
