Well, I have a new job. I still work for the same company I'm just doing something different now.
That reminds me of the Bobcat Gothwait bit, "I lost my job, well
I didn't really loose my job I know where it is. Just
when I go their, there is a new guy doing it." You can also use
this if you break-up with your girlfriend. "I lost my girlfriend,
well I didn't really loose my girlfriend I know where she is. Just
when I go their, there is a new guy doing it."
Anyway, I have moved from Mainframe network to being an Intel person,
Windows 2000 and NT servers for you laymen. I'm
not sure how much I moved as I was guided. Prior to the outsourcing
the Mainframe Networking was handled by me and
another guy. I was offered a job and he wasn't, which is what he
wanted since he could retire with a years pay.
Well after the dust settles I need to go to another
"department" to continue the network work I do or did. Well
turns out
all the slots on the Network team are full. Hello, I'm over here, the
"mainframe" network guy. How can you be out of
slots? Why did you offer me a job? Typical, the mainframe is always
over looked. It's being going away since I started
in 1988 and it is stronger now then ever.
Long story short, a re alignment was done at work, they call it the
matrix, ooh ahh. Another attempt was made to get me on the
network team. So I continued to do the Network stuff thinking I was
going to be "matrixed" in to that group. Should have
known better.
So now I am on the Intel team and to tell you the truth, this is the
happiest I have been in a while (kind of sad isn't it). I
don't know what it is. I don't know if it is because the work is new
or exciting or both but my days are flying by. Maybe
in a couple months I have a different opinion, stay tuned.
If I get any network calls now I get to turn them away. Should be
interesting. If anything learning more about servers will
help me down the road to either get on other accounts or who knows,
maybe go to another company all together. The one
down side is any time my Dad's PC breaks I tell him I can't help him
I'm a mainframe guy. I guess that excuse won't work
anymore.

Germany - A German Pot Bellied pig named Berta has passed an audition
to star in an opera. Six pigs were registered for
the casting but two dropped out because they were nervous and one was
stuck in traffic. That is a lot of information about
pigs. I thought pigs only got nervous around eggs. (Get it? Bacon and Eggs)
On June 5 actor David Hasselhoff was arrested for DUI. He was stopped at a Mcdonalds in LA.
Hasselhoff admits he had been drinking but he was not driving, K.I.T.T was.

June 13, 2004 was a day many middle aged men had waited 18 years for. The Olsen twins are legal.
Finally the countdown is over. Now we middle aged men can date the
girls without having to worry about getting arrested
because they are under age.
What 18 year old female wouldn't want to date a 34 year old man? It would be the one thing the girls don't have.
A recent story on CNN has the girls net worth at 300 million. If the
girls live to be 78 they would each have to spend
$6,849.31 every day to use up all the money. That equals a new Range
Rover every week.
Note: I wrote this before the news of Mary- Kate's eating disorder
hit the news. Suffering from an eating disorder my self, I
like food, I like it a lot, This bit is in no way meant to be a cheap
shot. The Olson's have their stuff together, unlike so many
of the other child stars. I wish Mary Kate a speedy recovery, no one
likes a date that doesn't digest the dinner you paid for,
all right that may have been a little cheap. On the plus side, E! can
now do a 20 min True Hollywood Story on the twins,
Mary Kate and her fat sister on the next E! True Hollywood Story.

We have a new dress policy at work. Business attire Monday -
Thursday. Basically a shirt and tie for the guys. Not sure
what it means for the gals. I think it means heels and skirts, of
course I could be wrong.
Word of the new code came down on a Friday, which meant we all had our weekends planned, clothes shopping.
I didn't mind having to buy new shirts and ties for work. After all
the raise I got, oh wait I didn't get a raise. Well the raise I
got the year before was more then enough, no wait, I did get a raise
then either.
It's funny seeing everyone in a tie. In the old days, when a guy came
to work in a tie, you knew he was taking a long lunch,
job interview. Now it looks like we are all looking for new jobs.
The change couldn't come at a better time, summer. Nothing like a
shirt and tie on a warm summer day to make you
comfortable.

Verne Troyer, the 32 inch tall mini-me actor from Austin Powers is seeking an annulment.
Model Genevieve Gallen claims that she and Verne are married. Verne says they dated but never married. The go to court later in June.
You gotta love the news reports on this. Gallen is 5' 6". All the reports refer to her as a leggy blonde. Wouldn't just about anyone be considered leggy next to Verne?

On June 17 I turned 35. On the 18 I went out to Nellos with my mom
and a friend. one of my sisters joined up with us
later.
What a great night. I was sucking down Rum Runners and having a blast. The food was good too, as always.
Later that night wasn't so good, I had a dream I was being chased
around the desert my a Coyote, a Wylie E one at
that.
The following Friday we went out to Bugaboo Creak. More drinks and
good food. Getting old isn't easy but liqueur
makes it fun.
