The
Things I Miss About Opie
By Penny Y.
Williamson
I will miss his kisses on my nose when I am sad.
I will miss him following me into the kitchen for
breakfast
first thing in the morning.
I will miss him waking me up in the middle of the
night
when I am having a bad dream.
I will miss him staring at me when he is trying to
tell me
he wants something or just affection.
I will miss his affectionate nudges on my face
and filling my nose with his fur.
I will miss the smell of his breath
when he yawns in my face.
I will miss him jumping up in my lap
and telling me to "shut up" when I am angry or
irritated.
I will miss him nudging my hands in the middle of
the night
when he wants me to pet him.
I will miss him getting in front of the T.V.
when I am trying to watch a movie.
Most of all...
I will miss the love he shared with me
when I took him in, gave him a loving home,
when he was homeless.
The love from him was so special.
He truly was a gift from God.
I was blessed to have shared his love!
