Tenchi Muyo!
Tenchi Muyo!- To clear things up, Tenchi Muyo is the name of the SWORD not the boy; his name is Tenchi Masaki.  There are 3 tenchi series each independent of each other; meaning the storylines, how the character meets, what role the characters play, all run differently in each series but how the characters act all stay the same.  The biggest thing going for this show is it's seamless border between big-time action and character interaction   (irrelevant humor).  I'd say the action sequences are very well timed and doesn't leave you wanting more because it's always followed by some satisfying conclusion.  I absolutely give the character interaction 2 thumbs up cause it's just funny how they all act and very, very interesting how things develop.  All the series have something going for them.  Tenchi Muyo! the OVA was good because of it's nice story and absolutely awesome animation.  Tenchi Muyo the series was good because of it's expanded and much better version of the story, new characters and a much more satisfying climax but the animation lagged a lot... it was like watching the original gundam series after watching Gundam X.  Shin Tenchi lagged a little in animation but I liked the drama, maybe less of the story.  Overall, all the series are good. The movies are like the series.  There are three of them and all are independent of each other, not to mention as you go from the first movie to the next, the age rating also goes up. The first movie, Tenchi in Love, was the best in my opinion because of it's humor, awesome action sequences, a look at Tenchi's parents and the awesome sci-fi parts.  The second one, Daughter of Darkness, Manatsu no eve, was actually a christmas special in Japan, and it's good part was the action part at the end BUT the best thing going for it was howTenchi's daughter, Mayuka, and the other characters interacted.  It was especially good for seeing other aspects of characters such as Sasami's compassion, Ryoko's extreme hostility towards someone. and Tenchi's breaking point. Tenchi actually slapped Ryoko because of her bias against Mayuka.  The third movie had absolutely no action but had a lot more drama. Tenchi gets tricked into living a life with the spirit of a girl and actually has sex with her...( Euuuuuuuuuugh~!!!! YUCKYUCKYUCK!!!! That is sooooo nasty! Oh my gooodness YUCK!....) You see the reason behind Yosho's decision to leave Jurai and come to Earth and you see who'll eventually become the object of Tenchi's affection.  Overall everything Tenchi is pretty much good, in my view. I can not wait for the new tenchi ova series that's coming out that's about Tokimi vs other sisters.
