GOING FOR A SMACK |
||||||||||||||||||
Start in the same way as if you were going for a turn of the top. Here, you really want to carry as much speed trough your bottom turn as possible. Lean forward and carve with the rail of your board. Don't turn with tail of the board......this will slow you down. Don't open the clew.....oversheet the sail and lay it flat on the water.......this will let you see where the lip is.... and it won't slow you down... really drive the board attempting to dig the nose in.. |

As with a turn off-the-top, timming is very important. Here there are two variations. |
