Now, I am not the only kingdom creature in this household. In fact, I would say that the residence is beginning to resemble a zoo. Not to put too finer point on it, I am sometimes quite put out by the way the others get more attention than what I feel is appropriate. Leo and Jackie are two budgies. I nearly had Leo for lunch once, but he wouldn’t lie down and die. In fact, he fought hard for his own right to live. Can you believe it? Yes, he was determined. So, with the help of my human and a neighbour, he was able to escape and get back to his cage, out of my grasp and to relative safety. Of course, I could still get him if put my mind to it. But that was a while ago. I don’t bother him now. I do concede now though, that he is part of our family. Also, there is part of me that perhaps admires his tenacity and courage. Don’t tell him though. I don’t want him to get the idea that he has any sway with me. Well, who else his size would be crazy enough to stand up to me? Not many, I bet. Yeah, he’s a great little bloke.
