Entry for November 26, 2006

I was Listening to a great minister this a.m. and he was saying that we were not sinners because we choose to sin but we were BORN with the seed of sin at birth. He used a baby as an example of its having tantrums to get what it wants and getting angrier as long as its being ignored. If these things aren't corrected as the child grows they become more violent and dangerous. We inherited this seed from Adam just as we inherited eye/hair color and such from our families. The great thing is that God didn't stop with Adam because he messed up but He sent HIS SON to pay the price for all of us, and He has stopped at your hearts door to see if you will allow Him to Enter and help eradicate the Adam seed in each of us. This Love is probably deeper than you/I have ever felt. It is so complete it forgives, doesn't bear grudges or resentment. It is so compleete that every time you call His Name He is there to answer and guide you through the task at hand.  When you repent HE FORGETS what you have done! I know many times He has forgotten, but I haven't. Sadly satan knows if he can keep us in guilt we won't feel the Peace, Love and Freedom that God has offered and we get misdirected to I'm not worthy or I don't have enough faith to make it thru. We get disappointed with ourselves and figure it is what we deserve  or worse that God isn't forgiving us. In Hebrews 12:6 He says that "The Lord Disiples THOSE HE LOVES and He Punishes Everyone He accepts as a SON" He doesn't punish us for what we have repented!!! He tries to get your attention to address certain things that are Adam's seed acting out in us, so we can make the decision to stop that behavior. Usually these things come from a very damaged place in us that doesn't want to give up on the "reason I am like this is...." ( whatever hurt was put on you). Its is where the resentment, pain and unforgiveness reside and it is hurting you worse than the pain inflicted on you by others. He has promises for us all to take part in.(Luke 12:52"Do not be afraid little flock for your Father has been PLEASED to GIVE YOU the Kingdom")!! This kingdom is present to you here and the hereafter. Jerimiah 33:3 "Call unto me and I will answer thee and SHOW YOU The Great and Mighty things which thou knowest not." Great and Mighty things sound pretty good to me. I have had a pretty mediocre life up to now and I think I'd like some Great and Mighty  in my life. How about you? I hold to the verse of Hebrews 10:35,36 " Therefore do not throw away your Confidence which has Great reward. For you have need of Endurance so that when you have done the WILL of GOD  You May RECEIVE what was PROMISED." Hold to Your confidence so that satan cannot shake you away from The Promises of God. It hasn't been easy for me as yet but I hear Practice makes perfect! That is why he says to Endure. Endure means To carry on through, despite hardships, To bear with tolerance, To suffer patiently without yielding.
Jesus' last statement before returning to Heaven is in John 15:9-11 It is something to meditate on and make a part of your life. I won't write it all here, just the last sentence. "I have told you this so that MY JOY may BE IN YOU and that Your Joy may be complete." Its my goal for this coming year... COMPLETE JOY! I hope you already have this Joy but if not that you will look to God to find it. Hopefully I can add some insights to help. Blessings to you.

I have come back to this very often. When I become impatient with myself or disappointed with my progress in any endeavor I return to these words for comfort and reassurance that the Lord does not abandon you if you believe in Him.
