Entry for January 13, 2007
I *swear* that I will post some photo of something soon! I should post a pic of my new Babe Easy Wheel and also some pictures of the yarn I've handspun and plied and maybe of something I've knit.
But not today.
I finished spinning the singles out of the Cherry Tree Hill roving and washed it to set the twist. I whacked it a bit on the bathroom wall before I set it to dry. I think it is very pretty!
Yesterday my "black forest truffle corriedale" roving came from Arianie at Matahari (http://mataharistudio.wordpress.com/specials/ ). Pretty pretty pretty!
My second order of fiber came from Carol at http://thesheepshedstudio.com today! I got EXACTLY the roving I was hoping for golden-caramel-brown and white in big fat stripes. And I got two spinning bells--one cream colored and one is sorta pink, which, apparently means it has mohair in it. That's cool, huh?
I want to learn to spin "woolen", although it occurs to me that some of what I did with the last spinning bell on my spindle wheel LOOKS like it might be woolen. I am trying to get some direction on this, but I think if I rip the pieces off the spinning bell in a different way it might be more like rolags (which I haven't ever really seen) and thus be woolen. Maybe?? I will try to do it and report back. Eventually.
