Being a grad student sucks, and I'm glad I have only one more week. Apparently, my advisor was extremely underwhelmed with my thesis, and wants me to crunch through more data (now one week before my defense). I guess an advisor has the perogative to make these decisions at the last possible freaking minute - it would have been nice to know that my last year's work was a piece of crap at least two weeks before defense, but whatever. I'm not bitter. All things considered, things could be worse - I could be working for an egomaniacal jackass who treats his students like day old lunch meat.
As Matt reminded me - although it is often difficult to dissociate ourselves from our work/school, criticism about our work deliverables is not criticism of who we are as a person. Although my thesis lacks substance, I do not lack substance. (But if I keep it up at this rate, I may self destruct!).
Whatever, I'm not bitter.
